~Y/N's Pov~

It was only New Years and I was full of holiday cheer. I had decorated the house only in two days and prepared food for just the two of us.

I shifted around the house and looked for things that I still had to get done, but all seemed to be finished for the holiday preparation.

As it was already 10 at night, I decided to wander out to the living room. I then see Ein on the couch, slightly spacing out and staring at the wall, his head turned so I couldn't see his face.

"Ein...?"

He jumps and refuses to turn to face me like normal. "Y-Yes?"

"Are you okay?"

He nods and continues to avoid eye contact.

"Ein... Something is obviously off if your spacing out and refusing to look at me." I wander closer and that's when I finally see it. His eyes are puffy from tears which stain his face.

"Y-Y/N..." He sniffs and I embrace him tightly.

"What's wrong...?"

"All I see... is the old me. I don't want to go back. I don't want to remember." He burrows his head into my shoulder and resumes his sobbing.

"Hey... Mind telling me what is triggering it to happen?"

He shrugs and continues to sob almost non-stop into my shoulder. I decide to look around the room to see what could be the cause for the emotional change. Then I spot it, the sweatshirt sitting on the doorknob across the room.

"...I didn't mean to wash it... I just thought..." I pull away and rub my face. "I'm so stupid..."

"No... It's stupid how I got triggered over that... I'm sorry."

"There's no need to be..." I say and he hugs tightly, toppling me over with him laying on top.

"I'm so thankful that your here for me." He rests his head on my chest and continues to hold me in a tight embrace.

"Its... not a problem." I fluster slightly. "Would you like me to put it away?"

"In a little bit... just... stay still."

"Ein... Your kinda laying on-"

"I know." His tail wags playfully and his ears twitch in a teasing manner.

"Can you please get-"

"No, its comfortable."

"Your drunk."

"...Maybe." He looks up at me and laughs a little.

I turn my head and immediately spot the bottle of champagne half gone sitting on the television stand. I groan slightly annoyed and squeal when he rolls us off the couch.
