As the November cold air finally begins to fill the area, my comfort around Ein was the way I was keeping warm.
"Hey Y/N...?" Ein said, who was sitting next to me on the couch.
"Yeah?"
"...Do you ever wonder if you'll get back onto good terms with Aaron?"
"I... don't know." He looks around and sighs. "I haven't been on good terms with him for years."
"Right..."
"I... could try though."
"You don't have to..." I look over at him, who now had his hand on my leg.
"I will..." He brushes some hair from my face and I fluster a little bit. "Just for you Y/N."
"Thanks Ein. That's really sweet of-" My phone began to buzz and I pulled it out expecting another random caller, but my eyes widen at the name. Aaron. And its a facetime.
"Ein! Hide or something!"
"What? Why?!"
"Aaron's calling me! I don't think it'll be best for him to see you!" I said and he drove to another couch out of sight and into a blanket.
I took a deep breath and stared at the facetime button. Finally and cautiously, I pressed the answer button and wait for the call to load.
"Y-Y/N?"
"Aaron..."
I see him smile and I try not to tear up, but end up anyways.
"You're okay... How? You were bleeding before..."
"I..." I look down and scratch my head. Shit.
"I bet it was that new roommate of yours... They sound nice. Is it a he or she?"
"Oh yeah! He saved me from dying. I probably owe a lot to him." I laugh and let out a sigh of relief.
"Good... He sounds like a nice guy." I watch as Aaron looks around the room he was in.
I began to study the details of his face and the call itself. The slight beeping, the scars that I could see lining his upper arms and neck, his messy hair, the quiet music in the background, and so much more.
