Izuku hummed his favorite song as he skipped happily to the place he would be calling home for the remainder of his time here at the U.A. At the beginning of the year, all the students had gotten a room at the new U.A. dorms, and to be honest, Izuku would probably prefer the dorms over his own home. The events that happened in there made him feel unsafe every time he stepped foot into the doorway. He shivered at the thought. Turning up the volume on his headphones, he tuned out the world around him and began running the notes he took today through his head.
With his bad habit kicking in, he started unconsciously mumbling and rambling these things out loud. To an onlooker, he may have looked like he's on drugs. Who knows. He sure doesn't. There's no telling what his dad might have done while he's been asleep.
"Did you say something, Deku?" Someone asked beside him.
Izuku whirled around toward the sound of the voice. It was Uraraka, the nice girl. He slipped off his headphones and paused his music.
"D-deku?" Izuku stuttered. Why was she calling him that? She must hate him too.
"Yeah! That's what that Bakugou kid called you today, right?"
"Oh, that's just Kacchan being a bully."
"Oh, I'm sorry! To me, Deku sounds like a person who never gives up!"
Izuku lightened up at her statement. Never gives up?
"Your fine with him calling you that?" A new voice sparked behind Izuku. He turned his head yet again to the newcomer. he could remember those hand movements anywhere, it was Iida.
"Eh, it's fine," Izuku said weakly, "and I wasn't really talking." He explained to Uraraka about when she had asked him what he had said. "I was probably just mumbling to myself - ya know - going over today's notes. I get lost in thought sometimes and start rambling without me even noticing." Izuku thoroughly explained.
"Well from what I heard, you have lots of notes on all your classmates. I would never want to get on your bad side!" Uraraka bounced on her toes to emphasize her statement.
"I would like to hear the notes you have on us. It may help some identify how to get their quirk more powerful by analysis." Iida looked curiously at Izuku, his eyes locked into his, but not in a 'do-it-or-else-because-I'm-Bakugou' way.
"Maybe sometime later," Izuku said as he started forward, "we gotta get to our dorms."
"Mhm." Iida and Uraraka both nodded and jogged after Izuku.

Izuku crashed into his bed. His dorm room was basically empty except for a desk and a bed, and maybe some knickknacks here and there. It felt so good to finally have his own dorm. A place secret to only him, but there was one thing that Izuku was overjoyed about... he was certain that All For One would think twice before busting in here, a place full of heroes. The soft, blue sheets welcomed Izuku as he sank lower into his bed, and maybe, just maybe, Izuku could have a good nights sleep tonight.
