A slight creak on the floorboard roused Izuku from his all so peaceful sleep. School started tomorrow, so he needed those few precious hours so he could preform up to expectations, and his mother knew that, so why would she be up at this hour, risking waking him up? Izuku cracked his eyes, not fully awake, he analyzed the room.

"Mom?"

No reply

Nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe he just imagined it? It isn't unusual for things like this to occur now and then. This was a moderately old house after all. Accepting that as an answer, Izuku flopped back down on his soft pillow, ready for sleep to consume him once more. Pulling up his striped blue sheets, he buried himself under the covers. Comfortable in his position, he waited. He was hovering over it, the void of sleep, and then he finally slipped over the edge, until a hand on his shoulder yanked him back. Quite literally. Izuku was jolted out of his warm bed and onto the frigid floor, his blue, warm sheets following him on his trip all the way down. The air got knocked out of him for a moment, and he was left there to gag for what seemed like minutes, but was only a mere 2 seconds. With a huff, Izuku grasped the situation. He immediately stood up and activated Full Cowling. The familiar aura lit up the room with a bright neon green. The bright, comforting color seeped into the corners and crevices of his room, illuminating his notebook with all his hero notes jolted down into it. Green was his favorite color, and it calmed him ever so slightly to see it light up the room with its soft glow.

His calmness evaporated in an instant.

What stood before Izuku was a monstrosity. It could have been a man, but Izuku wasn't quite sure. A long tube was embedded into his neck and curved around into places he couldn't see. He wore a black mask and a suit, but Izuku didn't have time to question his fashion choices. This thing might be the only thing that the calming reassurance of green wouldn't work on.

"Who are you?" Izuku asked. The most generic question you could possibly ask someone who was breaking and entering.

"Now, now, Izu. Has it been so long that you don't even remember your own father? It's me, or as I now go by, All For One."

Izuku's eyes dilated and became so dull that they were at the point of unrecognizable features. This isn't true. It can't be. Mom told him that dad was away on a long business trip. This man was not his father. Izuku's father was a kind man with a kind heart. He wouldn't- he can't. Izuku didn't even have the pleasure or luxury to ask another question. Izuku wanted answers, but his "dad" had other ideas. All For One had Izuku dangling by his arms over the floor. Izuku tried to call for help, but his mouth was soon covered by a hand. Clawing at the hands that held him up wasn't doing any good either, All For One was just too strong. He looked at his fathers face, well he would have liked too, but he still had his mask on, but as if All For One had read Izuku's mind, he grasped the front of the metallic black surface, and pulled to reveal just a lump of flesh. He had no eyes, nose, ears. All that was present was a mouth that was twisted into a maniacal grin.

"Oh, son, you look surprised? Why? Am I not what you were expecting?"

Izuku gulped, and with what courage he could muster, he spoke up,

"T-the heroes will come and arrest you. You made a rookie mistake, telling your target your name. Now all I have to do is break free using Full cowling," when Izuku said that, the neon green seemed to get ever so slightly brighter, lighting up more of the room, "and make it to the nearest phone."

"Ahhh, clever boy. I expected as much." All For One laughed and brought Izuku closer to his face. "But that's why I came prepared, you see," Izuku and All For One's face we're almost touching. "No word about this to anyone." Izuku's father hissed into his ear, "or so help me I will kill your mother and everyone you hold dear. Does that change your mind?"

Izuku just dangled there. Now he was the one without the plan. There was nothing the poor boy could do, except not his head in defeat. Pleased by his answer. Izuku's dad places him down, but not before placing something on his shoulder. It felt small, and box-shaped.

"Now, hold still, this will sting for a while."

And with that, Izuku's father pressed down on the small object he held on Izuku's arm. It slowly sank down into Izuku's skin, no, more like the skin was willingly consuming it, and then it was gone. All For One was right. It did sting, but briefly.

"What was that?" Izuku looked up into his fathers faceless - well - face. He gingerly touched the spot where the object once was, but he felt nothing out of the ordinary. No bump, no pain, no soreness. It was as if it didn't happen.

"That's for me to know."

And with that, he was gone.

Izuku stood there paralyzed for a few moments after that. His brain still processing what was happening. He didn't want to believe that that thing was his father, yet, it somehow made sense. But the worst part of all, he couldn't tell anyone about it. No one could know what he just experienced. Still unconsciously gripping his shoulder, Izuku snapped out of his thoughts, and he slowly made his was back to his bed, which now didn't seem all that great or comfortable. There was no way he could ever fall back asleep. Not after what he had just witnessed.

Not after everything he had just figured out.

Woohoo! Yeah! This was originally just a daydream that I came up with while listening to music, but I decided to put it on paper! This will have slow updates due to the story not being planned out because I'm still creating it in my mind 😂. I am actually pretty proud of this piece!

Huge shoutout to Izuku_Prince and alright_artz for making some of the greatest fanfics I have ever read along with some other great peeps I am following such as todoroki_000 and my friend who is sharing this account with me!
