Chapter Thirteen - Things I'd Rather Not Say

Izuku stared up at the looming figure over him. There is no way he can fight and win. All Might has to back down. The villains have a plan - and a good one at that. He can see it in their eyes. They're waiting. They're waiting for the cue to unleash something so horrid, that not even the No. 1 hero can stand up to it. It's coming. Izuku knows what they're planning to do.

"All might, you can't. They have a weapon - they'll kill you." The pain in his side was unbearable. His words came out in nothing higher than a whisper.

"There is no need to worry. As a pro hero, I must protect everyone. But even more than a pro hero, I am your teacher, and a teacher protects their students at all costs." All Might didn't even look down. His eyes were tailing Shigaraki. He was waiting for another attack. Izuku could feel his grip tighten around his body. This isn't right. This isn't happening. He'll wake up in his bed any second now. He'll yawn and stretch and tell the others of the crazy dream he had. He's gonna wake up. He's gonna wake up .

"Stay here." All Might hissed in his ear. His voice was drenched with worry. "Don't do anything stupid."

Izuku chuckled to himself.

"No promises."

He can't remember anything after that.

Izuku woke up in a hospital bed. No time for cliches. He knew why he was there.

Oh shit.

He would get up, but his side was protesting, and the tightly wrapped bandages weren't helping his pain. He had  to know if All Might was ok.

He could hear people talking outside the door, but he couldn't make out any of the words.

Is this . . . the UA nurse office?

No, no. That's not it. He's in an actual hospital.

Ah shit the medical bills.

Cursing for not being more careful, Izuku knew that because of him, the medical bills his mom would have to pay would be through the roof. He heard a slight creek at the door, and saw a face. A face? They made eye contact, and a soon as they did, the door basically flew off its hinges.

"YOOOO MIDORIYA YOUR AWAKE!" Of course. This kind of screaming could only belong to one person. One very special kind of person with the brain capacity of a burnt piece of toast.

Kaminari.

"I THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER WAKE UP!!!"

"Kaminari he's been knocked out for like 10 minutes get a grip."

Ah yes, the person to keep Kaminari in line while also being just as special as him.

Sero.

"Glad to see you awake Midoriya."

Now that voice came from Mr. Aizawa.

"It's actually quite surprising that you're awake this early. The wound on your side will take at least a few more days to heal, but it will scar over."

As if that was a big problem. Izuku has a few scars here and there, so what's one more.

"No big deal." Izuku swung his legs over the side of the bed, ignoring the pain in his side, "Not like it's gonna affect me."

"Lay back down Midoriya. You aren't healed yet."

"But Sir, what about school-"

"Schools canceled you big nerd." A new voice joined in on the conversation. Unbeknownst to Midoriya, his whole class was standing in the doorway. He received a flick on the head from Kirishima. "That attack has its drawbacks, and one of them is no school for a few days. Gotta keep the media in check."

"Sounds good to me, I guess." Midoriya was too tired to even question what Kirishima said. Besides, a few days off of school could give him time to catch up on his studies. He's falling behind because a certain someone decides that it's ok to strike up a very painful conversation whenever they feel like it.
