Isaac's POV :

I was walking down the hallway with my mom as someone jogged up to my side and walked with me. I walked slower and turned towards the person so they knew they had my attention.

"Um, hi." I scoffed and tried to walk faster because Luke Hemmings was the last person I wanted to talk to.

Ever.

He lay his hand on my shoulder so I stopped walking. Anger bubbled in me as I remembered Ashton being so broken about what Luke did.

"Luke. Can you please leave me alone? I don't even know why you're here or why you're trying to talk to me but just.. go away! I know what you've done to Ash and that's exactly why I don't like you either. Get that in your head." His breath hitched and I knew my words hurt him a bit. I took a deep breath and calmed myself down on the inside.

Slowly I reached out and felt his arm. There was a bandage and I accidentally pressed against it and he winced.

"Oh shit, sorry!" I backed off a bit.

"It's okay. I-I fell down the stairs." I took another deep breath and fiddled with my fingers as the tension between us became a bit awkward.

"About that Ashton thing-" I wanted to say more but he interrupted me.

"I apologized to him, well, kind of, over twitter because he doesn't want to talk to me, what I understand and yeah, I'm really sorry for what I've done." He shifted around nervously, or that's what I think, and waited for me to say something. I thought about his words.

"I'll ask him about that, but okay. For now you really seem like a cool guy and maybe when we meet again sometime we can talk and yeah, you know what I mean." We both chuckled.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." I was about to say something else when I heard Ashton's loud laugh behind me.

"I have to go now, but we'll meet again soon, yeah?" I already turned around when I said this.

"Yeah, I hope so. Um, bye?"

"Bye, Luke." I walked down the hallway and heard someone yell my name. Ashton ran up to me and hugged me.

"What took you so long?" He grabbed my forearm and guided us out of the building to his car.

"I talked to Lu- a friend. I talked to a friend." He didn't ask any more questions about that so I assumed he believed me but it wasn't fully lied.

I talked and Luke and I are kind of friends. We'd work this out.

We drove to Ash's house and went up to his room. I sat on his bed as I heard him walk around the room.

"What are you doing?" Slowly I laid back on his bed and put my arms behind my head.

"Looking for a nice outfit because my mom wants to have dinner with some friend tonight. I'd ask you to stay here if I didn't know your mom." I chuckled at that because my mom really was a control freak and like some security dude. She didn't want to let me stay at a friend's because 'they could hurt me because it's easier when someone is blind'.

"Yeah, sorry. What does the clock say?" I laughed at my own stupid joke that referred to that weird song with the fox.

"Um," I heard Ashton walk over to his desk to look at a clock. "It's 5:48. I can take you home if you want me to except your mom wants to pick you up?" I thought about it and nodded.

"Can you take me home?" I sat back up.

"Yeah, of course come on!" Ash took me by the arm and we walked downstairs. I greeted his mom politely then we went outside and he drove me home. He helped me out of the car and to my front door. My mom opened and hugged both of us before I said my bye to Ash and closed the door.

Ashton's POV :

As soon as I was back home my mom told me to put on my good clothes. She didn't tell me who'd come over but I thought it probably was Calum with his family or one of mom's other weird friends.

I put on my black skinny jeans, a grey shirt and a black blazer over it. I mean, I never owned a suit or something like that. I looked into my mirror one last time before walking down. My mom was in the kitchen cooking dinner and I sat down on the couch in the living room. After about 10 minutes the doorbell rang. Mom walked over to it and opened it. I heard a deep voice of a man say

"Hello, Ann Marie! We didn't talk for so long!" and then my mom said.

"Yes, you're right, Ryan!". I turned off the TV and made my way to the door. I stopped as I saw my neighbour and his son. My smile dropped anf I groaned. I walked over to my mom.

"Are you serious?" I whispered so Luke and his dad wouldn't hear me. She turned around and smiled at me.

"Yes. Ryan's a really nice man and you could become friends with Luke." She didn't know about me hating Luke so I understood her.

"Fine." I crossed my arms in front of my chest and looked at Luke. He shifted on his feet and played with his fingers awkwardly.

"Kids, you can go to Ashton's room. Ryan and I will stay here and talk." My mom smiled but I just rolled my eyes.

"Where are Harry and Lauren?" Luke still didn't move but looked up now even if I meant my mom.

"Lauren's at a friends and Harry is at that birthday party." I nodded and started walking up the stairs. Almost at the top I turned around and motioned Luke to follow me. He slowly made his way up the stairs and I went to my room and Luke closed the door behind him.

"I didn't know about this." Luke stated and sat down on the floor. His legs looked damn long and good in that jeans.

Wait what..?

I shook my head and sat on my bed.

"Me neither but I guess we'll have to get over it." He nodded and we just sat there awkwardly until I saw him opening his mouth. I knew he wanted to say something but he didn't.

"What did you want to say?" He looked at me confused. "You wanted to say something but then you didn't."

"Because I don't want to annoy you." I rolled my eyes at his words.

"Come on, as if we both aren't annoyed by this here!" I furrowed my eyebrows and he finally started talking.

"Well, um.. Since you didn't answer my messages on twitter I guess.. um.. maybe you didn't read it and-"

"I did." Luke looked at me like I was some cow that just pooped a unicorn baby.

"Oh, well um," He stopped for a second and thought about his words. "I'm sorry. For everything and it'd be really nice if we could go back to normal or be friends."

Seems like I had a weird look on my face as he said that because he blushed a deep shade of red. In the end I actually thought about about what he said.

I'd like to be his friend.

What if he does something like that again?

I couldn't really trust him.

There were more reasons against it so I decided to wait.

"I'm sorry, Luke, but I don't think we can become friends anytime soon.." He looked down and nodded.

"Ashton, Luke, dinner's ready!" My mom yelled from downstairs. We both stood up and made our way to the dining room to find Mr Hemmings sitting on the table.

"Sit down, I'll help my mom." I said to Luke and he looked at me with panic in his eyes.

Wait
