JahsehMy eyes shoot open at the feeling of someone smacking my face. When I sit up and look around, I see Azariah spread across me and the bed with her arm extended and hand right next to my head.
It was still dark outside.
My black cat, Xemnas, hopped on the bed and curled up in between us. I stroke her fur while she purred and watched my love sleep. I need to do it soon. Before it's too late.
Half an hour passes and she starts to wake up. Her eyes open and immediately meet mine. "Hey, Papa." She yawns. I pull her up and lay her chest on mine, wrapping my arms around her. I never wanna let go. I didn't plan to.
"Sleep well?" My raspy voice glitched in her ear.
"Mhm." She tiredly nods. "You?" I nod and smile. Her morning voice is adorable.
"You wanna go to Walmart now before it gets light?" I ask. I look at my digital clock above the tv. 3:23.
"Fine," she shrugged. We both brushed our teeth again and didn't bother to change clothes. We put on house shoes and I grabbed Zahir and put him in the baby carrier on my chest so he could sleep better while we went out.
Azzy drove while I sat in the backseat, caressing my sleeping seed. We pull up to the empty Walmart and park.
"Y'all okay?" She spoke softly. I nodded and quietly get out the car. It wasn't very cold but I still pulled Zahir's hat over his ears some more. He shifted his head to the other side in his sleep, probably eating in his dream.
Azariah held my hand as we walked into the store together. We only say a couple of workers in the front and one or two more as we walked further back. We grabbed two carts and split up in the first two isles next to each other. I grabbed snacks while she grabbed drinks. We went around like this for a bit until we came back together to pick out some food for the week or so. Since Azzy cooks more than me, we got a lot more groceries than I usually would.
"Do you like eggplant?" She asked.
"Never had it." I told her. She smirked and picked up a couple.
"Sushi?" I asked.
"I haven't been able to eat it since I was pregnant." She shook her head. I grabbed a little tray of four for myself.
We finished up with food, filling up one basket. Then I took her cart and started to pick up some new toys for my son.
"He need a pacifier?" I asked, still unsure of what he already had or didn't use.
"No he's teething. Get these rings to put in the freezer," she mumbled. I nod and grab one of everything that said teething on it. I got more stuffed animals for his crib so he can learn and love all animals. Because duh!
After picking up baby nail clippers and diapers and shit, it was down to business. The Entertainment Section. Should I wake him up? Nah, no telling how long he really been sleep.
I glance over to Azzy, seeing her taking pictures. I smile and stuck my tongue out with four fingers up. She laughed and kissed my cheek.
"What you need over here?"
"Not much right now. Imma have Tank bring the van up here tomorrow and pick some stuff up. I want some more games and another headset." My eyes gazed over all the electronics. As soon as I walked up to the game glass, this luh nigga felt like waking up.
He almost started crying until he saw me. But he still look uncomfortable. I rub his back some and his head fell back on my chest. I kept doing that as I looked over the games. Damn I got all these bitches. Guess I'll find some online later. I grabbed the headset and we were finally on our way out.
"You sure you don't need nothing else?" I look at my love. It feels so weird having her back. I like it though.
She nodded and kissed Zahir who had his eyes glued to her. I push both the carts through to self check out but them bitches closed. Of course. We walked to a line with the light on and started putting items on the belt. The beeping sounds scared the baby at first but he got used to it. It made me giggle and shit, looking sappy as hell.
"Cute son," the cashier spoke up. I look up at her, recognizing her voice. I know her from somewhere.
"Thanks. Do I know you from somewhere?" I politely smile and ask.
"Uh, no I don't thin-"
"Gia?" Azariah cuts her off.
"Uh, yeah. Hey," she looks down, continuing to scan our items.
"It's me, Azariah. And X. We went shopping together remember?" Azzy said with a smile on her face.
"Oh. No, sorry. Must have been a while ago."
"It was last year," I shrug, knowing she remembered. Azzy's smile faded, probably believing her.
"Oh. Your total is 278 dollars and 4 cents." She says. I swipe my card and put the last of the bags in the cart. We take the receipt and I grab my baby mama hand and we push the carts away, going back to the car. We put some backs in the front, the trunk, and some in the backseat with me and Zahir while Azariah would drive back.
"You know she lied right?" I told her.
"Who? Oh, how do you know?"
"Seen too many people lie before." I shrug. She stayed quiet.
"Well, then maybe I should forget about her too." She tried to smile. I'll take all the pain away. I promise.
People Fucking Suck.
We got home and unload everything from the car and put it where it goes. The sun was starting to peak out just as we finished.
"Wanna sit outside before it gets hot?" She nods and we go to my room and leave out the sliding door. Roxas, who was asleep on my bed, opened his eyes and rushed to our side while we watched the sun come up. I laid in the grass with Riah on my lap and the baby in hers. Roxas ran around us in a circle, playing by himself until Sora and Frog III awoke and came out with him.
"Did I set out their food yesterday night?" I asked Azzy.
"Huh?" She was in a daze looking down.
"I couldn't remember if I set out the dog food last night." She nodded.
"You alright, big butt," I sat up, smacking her ass.
"Yeah. Just thinking." She smiled looking down at her wrist. The charm bracelet I gave her for her 18th birthday. Time fucking flew. And I feel like nothing changed.
I still feel for her like the first time she oh so easily caught my attention. And she never lost it.
