Jealousy

"So who is it you're going out with?" Johnny asked, his lips slightly parted as he swiped on a top coat of glittery gloss to the other's lips.

Taeil waited for the younger to finish before answering. "Doyoung. He's a good friend of mine," he said, smacking his lips together. "We're going to an arcade! I love arcades," he said excitedly.

An odd, irregular twang resonated in Johnny's chest. He?

He blinked. What was that?

"Me too. What's your favourite attraction?" Johnny asked as he started to pack his make up away in it's shimmering bag. He slid the eyeliner next to the glitter palette and zipped it shut. "Mine's either the punching bag or the claw."

"Punching bag? I tried that once and my arm hurt like hell," Taeil pouted, rubbing his bicep in memory. He paused. "But the claw! That was what Doyoung wanted to show me, because he's convinced he can win me the strawberry plush."

Johnny's eyebrow twitched. "You sound skeptical."

"Well," Taeil laughed. "I made a bet that he wouldn't be able to win it for me, and every time he loses, he has to pay for anything I want in Mollie's Sweet Shop."

So it seemed like the two of them were close.

A wry smile crept onto Taeil's bright features. "What is it?" He asked, a singsong tone taking over his voice.

Johnny snapped out of whatever the hell he was stuck in. "Eh? Nothing."

But Taeil wasn't convinced. However, he kept his enquiries to himself as he hopped to his feet and straightened out his dress. He hoped he looked as pretty as Johnny kept saying, because then that would mean he was attracted to him, right? He hoped he was.

"I should get going," he announced, and Johnny groaned.

"Why~?" He asked, head rolling back over the sofa. "Can't you stay a little longer?"

Taeil checked his phone. "I can't. We always meet up at one, and if I'm late, he'll make me buy him a drink!"

That's how Johnny stood up and bid goodbye as Taeil went out to town with his friend, obviously not before kissing him farewell and getting glittery lips.

As he walked back to his place, he frowned. Taeil was clearly a man. Doyoung was obviously a man, and Taeil was gay. Johnny? He wasn't even sure anymore, but he definitely didn't want to be. Why? Because that meant his brother would never let him live it down, and that his own friends wouldn't turn on and bully him for it either.

Not that he cared. It was just that if they did find out that Johnny liked - probably more than that by now - a guy, he didn't have the heart to defend  himself against oncoming blows. The last time he had been strong enough to fight somebody was about two years ago, and he hated how his Thai friend felt indebted to him for it.
