Run

Junhee ran.

He ran away from Jongin, he ran from the problems he had caused, and he ran from Zuho.

After all, how was he meant to explain that he had fallen in love with a homophobic bully?

He knew Zuho was looking for him and had been ever since he was walked home by the taller, but now his confessions had just created problems. And what did he do when it came to problems? He ran from them.

He couldn't have gotten far. He had maybe stayed in two different hotels, and whilst it cost him a lot - mentally, physically, and financially - he didn't really care. He just didn't want to see either of them again.

No. He did want to see one of them again, but god did he wish the circumstances were different.

As he collapsed onto the bed of the third hotel somewhere to the west of the previous one, he relaxed, but not too much. He wanted to see Zuho again.

No! He slapped his face lightly. Stop it. You survived eighteen months without him!

And then he stopped thinking and went blank because it'd be a lot more than eighteen months between now and the next time he saw him, but only if he kept on running away.

So... maybe he should just go back to Zuho? No, wait, now he had just made things awkward. He'd go back to questions like, 'Why did you leave?' and then he'd have to answer them, and then if he did, he could seriously anger his friend.

His friend, the homophobe.

But then, when he came out, Zuho was suddenly accepting him and pushing away Jongin. Maybe... Just maybe he could be like that now too...?

No.

Junhee you have got to stop getting your hopes up. When has getting them up ever helped you?

He pulled a cushion over his head a shut his eyes, scrunching up his nose a little bit when the fabric smelt a little bit unwashed, like perhaps sweat and a distant strawberry shampoo; an odd, extremely unpleasant combination.

Suddenly he wished he was back home with his clean sheets that smelled just like him and food that he knew wasn't out of date or absolutely disgusting.

Oh my god, why did he run away? He could have just played his confession off and state 'I saw a really hot girl and now I'm straight again. One hundred percent.'

Would that work? Pfft, nope. Zuho wasn't dumb.

No... Zuho wasn't dumb. He was smart and handsome. He was also a little bit annoying at times and he chewed with his mouth open like a barbarian, but god was he sweet. Zuho was literally a chewy toffee sweet.

Junhee pouted and opened his eyes before throwing the pillow off his face. He missed Zuho. Three whole days without the loud, obnoxious man felt like three lifetimes.

No, wait, wasn't that Jongin's prison sentence?

No. Agh. That was just another eighteen months.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when there was a knock on his door. Without thinking very much, he rolled lazily to his feet and lumbered to the door, but when he got within arm's reach, he heard,

"Junhee?"

And he froze. That was most definitely Zuho.

His heart raced and ceased to beat at the same time.

"Junhee, I know you're in there! Please come to the door a second!"

He sounded... exhausted? As if he needed a rest and just hadn't slept for days. Junhee inched towards the door and ummed over touching the handle.

Zuho exhaled sharply from the other side. "Please?"

Junhee inhaled slowly. "How did you find me?"

There was a pause before a reply. Proudly, he said, "I was in jail. I learned a thing or two about tracking phones-- but anyway! Junhee! Open the door."

Again, it took the shorter a while to build up the courage to face Zuho; the man he loved. "Okay," he whispered and unlocked the door. When he opened the door, his heart shuddered. Zuho looked exhausted, too.

He offered a smile. "You look like crap," he muttered.

Junhee smiled. "Well so do you!"
