"Ummm.." I bite my lip and grip the front door a little harder. The Vegas heat seems less here in the mountains.

"I'm so embarrassed to say that I don't." I try to sound polite and offer a timid smile, folding my arms around my body.

He just laughs lightly and runs his hand over his hair. What a gorgeous fucking family. How can a woman birth two boys that are absolutely stunning?
My mind instantly goes to Ellie.

Dad used to say we were both beautiful in our own special way. He used to joke about millions of men throwing themselves at our feet, and how we would someday have the whole world wrapped around our finger.
I wonder what she would've been like now. We would be best friends still, for sure. I wouldn't be alone.

Cole's vans are dirtied, and his legs are covered in scratches and bruises. I'm guessing he's the skater type? He has this childlike innocence to him, but something tells me he's a bit of a bad boy.
Does he want to come in?
Do I let him?
He's Roman's brother, so this is his house. Do I invite him in?

"I'm sorry for being so rude. Would you like to come in?" I push the door open, ushering him in and he steps through.

"I'm guessing he's still asleep?" Cole chuckles, leading me through the foyer to the kitchen.

I nod and follow anxiously.
Where do I know him from? I haven't hooked up with him. I would remember. How do we know each other?

I didn't get a chance to look through the house last night, but I am not disappointed in any way. The extravagant kitchen is lit up by tall, open, windows. Everything is spotless.
Cole plops down onto one of the six barstools that are lined against the bar and sets his keys onto the white counter, then looks up at me.

The counter tops are white, along with the cabinets and cupboards, reflecting the natural light And brightening up the room. It's so beautiful.

"So how has your stay here been?" Cole watches me scan the expensive house with a smile on his face.

I nearly choke at the question.
"Fine. This house is beautiful." I try not to make eye contact, but I can see the devilish grin on his face. Like he knows exactly what went on last night. I blush.

"Roman never told me this was your family home.  He said it was a rental." I try to change the subject as I pull myself onto the counter to sit, facing Cole.

"Ah..that's my big brother." He laughs.
"My responsible, sweet, nerd of a Brother with a bit of a temper problem as the cherry on top. So humble all the god damn time."

Sounds like jealousy to me.

He gets off the chair and walks over to the coffee bar, starting a pot. My mouth waters at the smell.

"This place belongs to Roman and I." He starts.

"Seriously??!" Holy crap. He never told me he owned a castle. I suddenly feel like a princess.

"It belonged to our grandparents, and they gave it to us. They hoped we would stay together forever." He teases.

"I came here for college, and Roman stayed back home. I live on campus, but our family uses it as a vacation spot in the winter. It gets nice and snowy. I throw parties every once in a while. Roman and Emily come out for a getaway.." His voice trails off, and he peaks over his shoulder at me.

My eyes meet the floor. I'm so embarrassed. I mean, I'm in awe that this palace isn't being lived in, but the mention of Emily's name still haunts me.

Change the subject.
"He also never told me about you." I mumble, half hoping that I wasn't heard.

Cole just shakes his head, hands still busy in front of him.
