Daniel's POV
I hated that my mom wanted her husband and his daughter in our house. My dad suggested that I should move in with him but it's too far and I need to focus on my work.
But anyways yeah my mom an dad got divorced and I do still live with my mom but I'll waiting to plan my plans.
For the first time I'm meeting my mom's husband's daughter and I'm excited because we can finally talk shit about this whole experience.
She never came around because well she was pissed at her dad and I would be too.
He meet my mom eight months after his wife died because she was held at gunpoint an well things happened. I admit I feel really bad but I can't do anything.
Currently I was getting ready to have dinner with everyone and I just dressed causal. By I mean causal I mean I wore a white t-shirt and black adidas sweat pants with my van black slip on's.
I wasn't too big on eating dinner with people I already know besides my mom's husband's daughter.
I don't know her name because first of all I never listened and I never asked what was her name.
Also I don't call my mom's husband "stepdad" or "dad" because I don't see him in that way.
I'll call him by his name even though it would be so much easier.
I walked downstairs to see my mom setting the table and I helped out.
"Daniel, can you please wear something else that's nice." my mom said "Mom, let me be comfortable." I said setting down the cups on the table.
She sighed and smiled at me.
I heard the door bell ring and I went to answer the door. Knowing it was cold outside and the breeze will hit me when I open the door, I put on my black hoodie.
As I opened the door, I saw Christopher walking in and greeting me.
Yes I know, his name is that simple.
I looked back and saw the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She was breathtaking or it was just the harsh wind that wouldn't let me breathe.
"Hi I'm y/n." she said extending her hand out "Daniel." I said shaking her hand. Her hand was cold.
"Please come in you're cold." I said stepping out of the way so she could come in. "Thank you." she said with a smile.
It was gorgeous.
Hold up, she's my step sister.
Fuck. My. Life.
"There goes my nonexistent love life." I said under my breath. "What?" she asked "Oh it's nothing, let's go sit down." I said walking to the dining room.
"Oh y/n, it's nice to see you again." my mom said hugging her.
Again? I thought she never met her?
"Well thank you for inviting me over." she said smiling. "I thought you never met her?"I asked my mom "Well, she went to the wedding ceremony and left the reception." Christopher said.
I nodded and I sat down next to her.
Anna was out on a trip for school lucky her. She didn't have to got through this awkwardness.
"Where's Anna, Chris and Tyler?" Christopher asked "Well Anna is on a school trip, Chris well he had his own place and unfortunately couldn't make it and Tyler is in Aspen, Colorado on vacation from his work" My mom answered.
Y/n was quiet. She was calm. I like that about her.
"Do you know who they are?" I asked y/n "Um Yeah, I meet all of them besides you at the wedding ceremony." she clarified.
How come I didn't see her? I would've obviously noticed her but I didn't.

We were picking up the dirty plates while my mom and dad were washing them.
"So Daniel how old are you?" y/n asked "I'm 19 turning 20 in April" I said. "That's cool." she said with a small laugh "What?" I asked looking at her.
She just nodded and smiled "How come your still living with your mom?"
Was this the reason she was laughing?
"Oh well, I'm focusing on my career and when I do turn 20. I'll look for a place and just start my life on my own." I said as we sat down on the couch.
My mom and Christopher went outside to have a drink by themselves.
"Oh wow you have your life planned out." y/n said as she rested her head on her hand.
She looked to comfortable and so beautiful.
I couldn't stop staring at her and that's when I fucked up. She noticed that I was staring.
"You know we're step siblings." she said awkwardly "Uh Yeah of course I know that." I said not making eye contact.
Why does this have to happen? I know she's my step sister but I can't help keep on calling her beautiful.
"So y/n how old are you?" I asked "I'm 20."she said."Oh you live by yourself?" I asked once again "For right now yeah, I'm looking for a roommate though. I live in a apartment with two bedrooms and I can't pay the rent all by myself" she said looking at her phone.
An idea came into my mind.
"I know this is very weird to say especially since with just met but do you think I come check out the room?" I said hoping that she didn't get weirded out.
"No I wouldn't mind, I get how your trying to live independent but we all start off with someone and I'd like to get to know you more." she said happily.
"I'd like to get to know you more too." I said with a smile.
"I could see you as a brother and I get that our parents are now married and well we have to accept that they love each other and I'm sure they will be happy that we're getting along"
She just called me her brother. She sees me as a brother. How stupid can I be to start liking my step sister.
"Uh yeah I'm sure they will." I said.
She looked at her phone and put it back down.
"Sorry Daniel I have to go, my boyfriend wants me to go with him somewhere." she said getting up.
And she has a boyfriend... great.
"Oh ok, well I'll see later then?" I asked
"See you later"
