A vague sense of pain outweighed all my senses and though I couldnt open my eyes, I was aware of everything. My hands were raised high above me, clasped together by thick iron cuff links, I was on my knees, with my feet chained together just like my hands. I managed to open my eyes and blinked a few times as I glanced around, the room was pitch black and though I couldnt see anything, I was aware of someone standing in the corner, staring at me.
"I thought you'd never wake up." A voice called. My ears perked up a bit.
"Karia." I whispered. I heard a few clicks before a candle was lit. My eyes widened as its soft light illuminated the faces of Karia and Issi. Karia grinned, she began peeling off her fake human shell to reveal her snow white skin underneath, her white hair curled around her face and her black, hollow eyes never looked away from mine.
"I'm done with Karia, you can just call me Akira from now on." She said with a giggle. I looked behind her to see Issi, completely unphased by the shedding of Karia's skin.
"What did you do to Issi?" I growled. Akira glanced at Issi before crossing her arms.
"I think she's just like that." She replied to my glare with a shrug. I took a deep breath and pulled against the chains around my hands as hard as I could, making a loud rattling noise.
"Dont wear yourself out." Akira said. She knelt down in front of me and lifted my chin.
"You're going to be in here for a long time." She whispered. I twisted my head away from her hand.
"Why dont you just kill me?" I growled. A grin took over her face as she began laughing.
"I dont want to kill you!" She answered through laughs, shaking her head back and forth.
"No, no, see. If you die, then I die too. Having you locked away down here works out much better for me." She stated, grabbing my chin again to make me look at her.
"What do you mean?" I asked quietly. Her black eyes widened a bit.
"You never figured it out." She whispered to herself as she released my face from her icy fingers. She began walking in circles around me.
"I, am your moon." She said. I turned my head to look back at her.
"My moon?" I asked.
"You're not the only one who was born from a dead planet." She hissed. I cried out in pain as a sharpened, thin metal pole was thrust through my stomach and coughed up a small puddle of blood.
"Oh no, After I realized that my planet was dying I knew I would die without it, so I implanted a seed, deep, deep in the core to ensure that an Ancient would be born from my planet, and I hid my own seed deep inside my moon, and I waited. Knowing that once my planet exploded, the backlash of the explosion would destroy my moon, turning me into an Ancient as well. So you see, Without me, you would die. Lucky for you, when I was reborn I lost my power to control you, but the fact still stands that I am your moon." She explained. I stared at the small puddle of blood taking in the information. That was why she never killed me before.
"So... you're just going to... leave me down here?" I asked through heavy breaths.
"Yes, as long as you're not in my way, I can do whatever I want." She said, finally circling around to the front of me.
"What... exactly do you... plan to do?" I asked. Akira put a hand on her chin and sighed.
"Im not exactly sure yet, now that I have you, well, I havent thought much farther." She replied honestly. I almost felt like laughing at her response, but the burning sensation of the metal pole kept me aware of my own situation.
