I stared at the small cat that was laying on my bed with it's belly facing up. I watched it turn its head slightly and I met eyes with it. Tear barged into my room with a glare on his face and I looked up at him expectantly.

"That kitten is mine." He whispered as he squinted his eyes at me. I rolled my eyes and stood up as I had been sitting on the ground. Tear pushed past me and reached down to pick up the small animal from my bed. I watched him leave and as soon as the door was shut I heard rustling near my window. I turned my attention outside as I saw a person surface from below my window.

"What are you still doing here?" I growled as Hayden gave my a half smile, this guy just wouldnt let up.

"I just want to get to know more about you, I've never met an ancient you know?" He said resting his elbow on my window sill.

"There's not much to know." I said quietly. Hayden tilted his head a little and continued smiling at me.

"What powers do you have?" He asked. I stared at him and nodded my head a little, telling him to come inside. He stepped through my window hesitantly and stood awkwardly by my window. I walked over and glanced outside, the sun was setting. I pulled the window shut and closed the curtains.

"Last night... your brother told me it wasnt you, what happens at night?" He asked noticing how I closed the window. I smiled a bit.

"Ancients are born from dead planets, so according to which planet we were born from we have to live by the same rules and properties as that planet. The planet I was born from is ruled by the moon so Im forced to abide by the same properties. I have some powers in the day, but they're much stronger at night, that's when I change, my body reacts on its own." I explained. Hayden cleared his throat as he looked at me.

"So uh... what did you do last night anyways?" He asked. I opened my mouth a bit as I glanced away.

"Thats the other thing, I dont exactly remember... anything that happens at night." I said sheepishly. Hayden made a soft noise as he looked towards the closed window before looking fown at his watch.

"The moon should be up by now, is there any way you can resist it?" He asked. I shrugged.

"Maybe for a little if I cant see it, but it'll happen eventually." I said. Hayden took a few steps closer to me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"I'll stay with you, I heard tonight is going to be a different kind of moon." He said. I shrugged his hand off and turned away.

"I'm fine by myself." I said coldly. I blinked my eyes a couple times as I could feel the moon beginning to affect me, but somehow it seemed stronger. I reached out and put my hand against the wall as I tried to push it back.

"Mara, you alright?" Hayden asked. I nodded my head but fell over sideways onto the floor. I was vaugley aware of Hayden's arms around me but this feeling was so different than the others, it hurt more, like my blood was boiling inside of me. I opened my eyes and glanced up at Hayen too see his worried eyes looking back at me before I blacked out.
