Chapter 8

"I was going to tell you..." Demi said.

"When?"

"Just now actually."

"Oh really? Somehow I don't believe you."

"I was. I wasn't on a date. I was having a meeting with one of the lead hunters."

Annabelle walked over to the coffee table and grabbed the journal flipping through the pages.

"Which one was it?" she said rolling her finger over the names.

Demi was silent.

"You are going to tell me everything." Annabelle said with a stern look on her face.

"Reno."

"And why were you meeting up with him?"

"He wanted to discuss something with me."

"Like what?"

"The lead Alexander is retiring and Reno wants me to fill her spot."

"What did you say?"

"I said yes."

Annabelle had to think about this for a minute then she said...

"Well have fun at Hunterville."

"You have to come with me."

"No."

"Yes Annabelle. You can't stay here, you have to start training."

"Training? Hunter training?!"

"Yes. You can't stay here you are guilty of knowledge you have to come with me and face the leads."

"What?!"

"That's what happens when people find out about this..."

"You're super-serious aren't you."

"Yes I am Annabelle. We are leaving in 2 weeks so start packing."

All she could do was stand there shocked.
