"Bet ten bucks he'll have her here on time."

Charlie Swan rolled his eyes at his second daughter's words. The both of them knew that Edward would have Bella here on time and that she was just trying to con money out of him. Even so, he gave it to her.

"Aaron, why didn't you go back to Jasper? I am not going to be mad if you do, I just want to know," he sighed as the two of them set the table for dinner. "And before you say anything, I've seen him around the house a few times."

Aaron had made meatloaf for the two of them and a small side of vegetable meatloaf for her tonight trying to get in the swing of being normal once more. It was a hard thing to do with a vicious red-headed vampire on her tail, but she did it. It was also hard when a certain heartbroken vampire didn't understand she didn't want to do anything with him.

She sighed before telling him that. "He comes here, I shoo him off heartbroken. It's not anything," she told him forcing a smile. As much as she hated them for what they did, he still made a big impact on her life that was hard to let go.

Charlie sat the last fork down on the table before walking over to her and pulling her into a hug. "No one is going to judge you if you go back to him, no one, kiddo," he told her as he rubbed her back.

Aaron fell into the embrace loving the warmth and love that he was emitting. "It's not that simple, Dad," she whispered knowing full well that he couldn't hear her. He would never understand what his two daughters were actually going through and that was okay with her.

The door opened making the two of them break apart. Bella and Aaron shared a glare at each other before Charlie sighed and broke off to have a conversation with the brunette as the other walked back into the kitchen to get the meatloaf.

Life with Bella Swan has been terrible since she refused to go save him, but why would she? Edward Cullen had no value to her life anymore.

"Dinner!" she yelled breaking off the conversation before setting the meal down in the middle of the table. Charlie thanked her as he dished out a slice to Bella who didn't say anything as she dug into her own mini-meal.

They each had individual conversations with Charlie who hated it. He wanted his girls to get along, but he knew better than to get in the middle of all of it. The father did not know what was happening to them, but he knew that if he got in the middle of it he probably would just make it worse.

Aaron went up to her room after dinner considering she didn't have to clean up. The sounds of her father and sister laughing and talking floated up as she did homework. She was failing one class and if she didn't get it up, then she would fail and have to repeat which is something she didn't want to do.

Nighttime had just nested in as she took a break to look out her window. That is where she saw an angry Bella storming out of her truck and a frustrated Edward who put a piece back in the hood.

She would kill Jasper if he had ever done that to her.

Aaron thought about it a long time ago, when her bike stopped working. It was running perfectly fine and then stopped causing her to get into that accident into the parking lot. She thought that it was him but ultimately dismissed the whole thing.

Edward caught her staring at him to which she just flipped him the finger before shutting her curtains and going back to her desk. She was tired of the Cullens being a united front to try to get her back with Jasper.

At least twice a day, one of them would corner her whenever she is doing something to talk about it. One of these days, she was going to punch one of them which would be bad.

Aaron hadn't told them about her new powers yet and it seemed like Edward hasn't read her mind to figure it out yet. She sighed before not wanting to do homework anymore and grabbed her cellphone.

"Hey, Grammy!" she yelled into the phone making her Grandma laugh. "I have some questions," she told her before spinning around in her chair.

"I have some answers. What can I help you with this time darling?" she questioned before putting her book down. The two of them love the conversations that they have with one another. This is the only connection that she was glad to have with her old life.

She smiled. "One of the vampires can read minds, is there any way that I can stop that?" she questioned spinning around once more.

"Yes, there is. At first, it is going to be a bit hard, but you need to concentrate. Whenever you are around one of them, that is your main focus. After a while, it'll just come naturally to you," Grammy informed her making Aaron's heart sore.

She wanted to keep this all a secret until she wanted to tell them about it. This is her choice and she felt like that the Cullens had no right to know about it.

"Concentrate how? I don't want to do work," she whined making her laugh.

"Just like your mother. You need to know when they are going to do the action. Then you need to focus on blocking them out. Picture it like a wall being built to keep them out," Grammy said making Aaron sigh. It seemed a bit easy, but her mind was weak still from everything that has happened.

Aaron licked her lips. "Thanks, Grammy. This is going to be hard. I got them both on my side, but everything is wonky. They won't leave me alone about trying to get back with Jasper. It's like they don't care about how I feel about the whole situation," she mumbled upset.

Sooner rather than later, they were going to get Bella on their side and she would be getting it at home as well. Then she would really flip her lid and punch someone. The teenager had more stress than she needed and it was about to topple.

"It will all be okay, Aaron. Just practice what I have already told you," she commented making Aaron sigh. The two of them had conversations about harnessing her powers and somehow they have been sticking with her.

She never thought that she would be in this situation, but yet here she was. Alive, about to graduate, and kick some ass. Three things that she thought she never would be able to do a year ago.

"I have to go, but I'll talk to you later, bye Grammy," she said before hanging up the phone, not before letting her say goodbye.

After she hung up, the doorbell rang. She now was home alone due to Bella and Charlie going out to get groceries. The young girl walked down ready to punch anyone who was out there.

When she opened the door, there was a single rose with a note tied to it. Aaron groaned knowing who it was from but decided to read it anyway. She leaned against the archway as she unfolded it.

"You gave light to my soul, You helped me to be whole, I have felt love for you before, And it will be more and more, You are mine, my dear, You are the angel from above, Who taught me how to love. Please, forever keep me near." Aaron read it out loud trying to ignore the filling sensation creeping into her heart.

Jasper Hale stood in the woods across the street as she read it to herself, feeling all of her emotions as she read it. He knew that she was being stubborn while not wanting to come back to him.

He knew that one day, she'll be his once more. It is just a matter of time and he would have to be patient.

Jasper Hale and Aaron Swan were met to be together, this was just a bump in their story.
