"Is she mad at me?"

Bella whispered to her father as Aaron (loudly) made dinner. Had she known her sister was going to be home today, she'd be long gone.

"Bells, you took your boyfriend to see your mother. Who, may I remind you, practically saved Aaron's life."

Aaron slammed a pan making them jump. "May I remind you two, you are not as quiet as you think you are," she snapped making Bella shrink. The two sisters were still really upset with one another, but that doesn't lessen blows when they come.

They fell silent, Aaron quickly finishing up dinner and taking her plate to her room. She forgot that her sister was coming home today. It had been a few peaceful nights without her. Well, as peaceful as it could be while vampire hunting.

With the hunt consuming her mind, she forgot that finals and graduation were coming up. So now she was spending a majority of her time trying to pass those tests.

That's how she spend the flurry of the next few days. Almost missing when Bella found out about Victoria.

It was a rainy day and she was sitting on the ledge trying to protect her papers. Her eyes flicked up to see Bella with her famous scoff placed upon her face. A fight was brewing and she packed up her stuff to join Jasper and Alice. Only in case it did happen.

She could feel Jaspers burning gaze, but ignored it to watch Bella figure everything out. The whole courtyard was watching at this point. Edward had Bella in a light grip, only to release her. She jogged over to Jacob and got on the back of his bike before zooming out of the parking lot.

"Karma," Aaron scoffed before turning around and walking away. She had more important things to do today.

She sighed when she felt pressure on her arm. "Aaron." His voice was laced with heartbreak making it burn inside of her. Charlies words floated in her head; no one will blame you if you got back with him.

She would. She'd blame herself. She needed to find who she was before throwing herself back into him.

"We get so high and then we fall down. Your not my home anymore, Jasper. You hurt me by walking away and you just walking back into my life isn't going to change that," she told him before he could get a word in. "I'm sorry, but I am not who I was before. You made a big mistake in leaving and need to accept that. Just give me time. Stop fighting for me," She pleaded with him and suddenly his hand dropped from her.

When she started taking steps away from him, it was painful and he felt every inch of it. Until she was out of range where he almost crumbled to the ground if it wasn't for Alice. Aaron, on the other hand, kept her head high as she strutted through campus.

Two forms of heartbreak burned through the campus and everyone could see it in their eyes.

It was later that night, when Bella was still with Jacob, Aaron was in her room trying to forget about Jasper and do her studying when she felt it. There was something wrong.

Silently, she got off of her bed and followed the feeling into Bella's room. Something was off, but she couldn't place it. Backing away she walked downstairs to see a vampire, standing over a sleeping Charlie. Before she could do anything, it was gone and she was fumbling for her phone.

"Aaron?"

Despite everything she said this morning, his voice soothed her rapid heart. Just because she wanted to find herself doesn't mean she didn't love him.

"Someone was in my house."

Aaron jumped when the door opened, only to reveal Bella. "You know, Edward could at least respect meal times," Charlie commented as he walked threw the threshold. She was relived to find him unscathed.

"Aaron? Are you okay? I am on my way."

She didn't even have the time to comprehend everything. As Jasper hung up, Edward walked through the door, sniffing the air. Jasper coming in a few minutes later. He shot Aaron a look before running upstairs to meet his brother.

"Are you okay? Is Dad okay?" Bella question checking over Aaron. "What happened?"

"I just saw someone standing over Dad and he left before I could do anything."

"Jasper is going to track the scent with Emmett. We're going to our house and before you can complain, just get into the car," Edward snapped before dragging the two girls out.

Aaron paced back and forth in front of their big glass windows, waiting for them to get back. The vampires were having a fast-paced conversation the humans couldn't keep tract of.

"Who was it? Someone we know?" She looked up at Alices words to see the boys walking in. Jasper automatically gravitating towards Aaron, but keeping some distance.

"A nomad passing through?"

"A passer-by wouldn't have left their father alive."

She shivered at Rosalies words. "A nomad wouldn't have been holding a gun either." Everyone stopped to turn at Aaron. "Guess I forgot to mention that. He was holding Dad's gun to his head. Something stopped him before he ran off."

Esme wrapped an arm around Bella, no one daring to touch Aaron. "His scent disappeared about five miles south of the house?"

Everyone dived into a conversation about who did it, but Alice was watching their decisions. Just because she was watching them, doesn't mean that there wasn't a blindspot. The human was sure it was Victoria, but knew the others in the room wouldn't believe her until they saw it for themselves.

"Another protection detail?" Rosalie scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"You guys can't keep doing this!" They were startled at Aaron's. "You can't search for Victoria, the intruder, watch all of us, AND keep yourselves feed. I can help protect us as well as the wolves," Aaron stated making Edward roll his eyes.

"You put so much trust in those damn wolves its disgusting."

"Yeah, well, at least they remember I can't handle people leaving me and haven't broken mine or my sisters heart yet," she snapped back before throwing up the middle finger. "The wolves can help and ya'll can finally stop having that damn pissing contest. If we want to get Victoria and find this asshat, then we need to work together." With every word she took a step closed to the mind-reader. "So, you might as well take that stick outta your ass and suck it up. Because if you don't Bella could die and I highly doubt you want that."

Emmett started to slow clap at her speech making the girl's lips quirk up. This is more time than she wanted to spend with them and she is getting settled back into it.

Once Edward backed down, she called the wolves who, of course, argued with her as well. In one minute flat, she shut Sam and his stupid alpha rules down. Before he hung up, he said Jacob would be by tomorrow.

She whirled around and looked at the family before her. A smirk was placed upon her red lips.

"See, now was that so hard?"
