In memory of K. I miss you more than you will ever know, this one is for you.

She usually has music on when she's getting ready for a night out. Today's night out is the first night she's had out in a while and for some reason she's not really feeling it. It's the last night out of the year, she cannot miss it. It's social suicide. She wants a night out, it's her mantra to never turn down a night out, except she's got gentle music on in the background. Almost if it's reflecting her feelings, gentle and quiet. It's not quite the club remixes she usually listens to whilst getting changed. Maybe it's that she hasn't had a drink yet. She watches herself whilst she's straightening her, joining in with the song in the background, the Smiths 'Asleep.' She turns the straighteners off, looking at herself in the mirror. 'Don't try to wake me in the morning, because I will be gone.'
'Have you got your ID?' The brown-haired girl as she barges into the room, dragging her out of her thoughts. 'Because otherwise you won't get in.' The other girl rolls her eyes, she's saying it like they are in fresher's week again. Her friend walks over to where the blonde girl is, being mindful not to step on the makeup or straighteners. The room is bare, everything stacked into neat boxed, and two cases. The only things out, beside the bedding and the sports bag, in preparation for tomorrow.
'I could have been getting changed Emma.'
'But you weren't.' The other girl argues, sitting behind her on the bed. Not that it would have made a difference, she would have come in if she were half naked. They had seen it all before, the drunk nights in the year where one of them would pass out with sick all down them. She often lies in bed, wondering how she didn't know Emma this time last year. Without her, life seemed empty. She watches her friend roll her eyes. She picks up her friend's bag checking that she has everything. ID? Check. Polo's? Check. Purse? Check. Her friend sighs, turning around. 'You look hot.' She pre-empts what her friends about to ask. 'I promise.' She smiles, staring at mirror, and checking her hair and lipstick once last time.
The pair link arms, walking the short distance to the kitchen. The music is loud, the beat of the drum never failing to get them in the mood.
'So, let me hold you. Girl caress my body.' Ruby joins in, going to join her friends. She grinds on her friend Dan, who joins in. It's pure banter, Dan is gay. 'You got me going crazy.' She sings, taking a sip of the drink in front of her, a vodka and coke. She's not sure how many shots there is in the drink. It doesn't matter, she plans to get wonky tonight. It's the last night out, her parents were going to pick her up yesterday, but she managed to talk her dad into letting her stay a further two days, she wanted to have this night out. Her mum wasn't too happy, but her dad told her that she deserved this night out, she had worked so hard.
'You ready to get fucked?' Another person shouts, coming and wrapping her arm around her friend. 'Everyone is coming tonight. Both hockey teams, the football and the tennis team.' She smirks. 'It's gonna get mad.'
'Fucked in the arse, like Dan.' Emma brings up, as everyone laughs. It's a running joke about Dan getting fucked in the arse. Their house had a habit of oversharing, and one day before Easter, Dan came home with a bleeding arsehole. It had become a thing since then.
'I know, is everyone bringing something?' She's met with a nod, pouring some of the Bacardi into a glass and topping it up with coca cola and finishing it off with three ice cubes and a cocktail umbrella. Before long the shared living area is filled with people.
