#1- encounter



Sky's POV..



"Mark, let's open the store."


It's been months since nag let go ako kay Summer. And now, I'm kinda okay. Almost half a year na akong nandito sa Pilipinas at marunong na akong magtagalog ng diretso. At last, for sure matutuwa syang marinig akong nagtatagalog. Hindi na ulit kasi kami nagkita after nung naaksidente sya, via skype na lang madalas.



"Sir Sky, hindi daw po makakapasok si Chef Billy. Emergency daw kasi manganganak na yung asawa nya."


"Okay. I guess I'll be his reliever for today."


"Good morning Sir Sky!"


Nagpalit na ng uniform ang nga crews ko, dad asked me to come home sa States, because he's planning to build a new restaurant here in Manila, and yes I'm the owner. It's a Steak House, Steak House Apartment.



"Okay guys! Chef Billy is not here today, so I'll be his reliever. Kindly look at our charts, here are the foods that we should push and the ones that we have only few stocks. And of course our target for today."


"Aye, aye Sir Sky!" They said in chorus, and went to their own stations.



I have twenty apartments sa loob ng shop, pagpasok mo sa loob isang diretsong isle tapos may hagdanan sa kaliwa at kanan. Lima sa baba at lima sa second floor, ganun din sa kaliwa, the set up is like a box, para may privacy, pero bukas yung kabilang side, parang may individual rooms ang mag didine in dito. Si Hannah ang architect ng shop ko, sometimes they do visit here. Nasa Taguig kasi sila, and I'm here at Makati, may malapit din silang branch dito, pero madalas si Kevin at Hannah ang bumibisita.



We served breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The menu is all about american food. And today I'm working in the kitchen, our Sous chef is not around, and as the owner I have to be flexible.

Break time:


"Mark, may pupuntahan lang ako. I'll be back after an hour." He is my assistant manager here sa SHA. (Steak House Apartment) I changed my clothes and grabbed my keys. And went to that usual place where I can see her from afar.


Nakita ko na ulit sya.


Madalas tumatambay ako dito sa Taguig kung saan nandun ang shop nya, DC Cupcakes.

Naalala ko kung paano sya nagsimulang itayo ang dream shop nya, madalas kaming parehas puyat dahil nasa States kami noon at nasa Pilipinas ang Architect nyang si Hannah. DC cupcakes, dream catcher's cupcakes, and the menu, it's all about him.


Masaya sya, madalas kong nakikita sa mga mata at labi nya. Sometimes I just caught myself stalking her too much, alam ko masaya na sya, she's with Red. And me? I'm still in pain, but only a little, time heals and sometimes being busy forgets.


Pinagmasdan ko sya, iba na yung ngiti na meron sya ngayon sa Summer na nakilala ko noon, it's sparkling. Ang hirap talagang mag move on pag palaging ganito ang ginagawa ko, some people says, kung gusto mo naman talagang mag move on sa isang tao, kaya mo naman gawin yun kung desidido ka na talaga, and I decided to let go, yun nga lang ang hirap din bitawan ng mga memories ko with her, handa akong pakawalan sya, nagawa ko na nga diba, pero sana naman yung memories, kahit yun na lang, okay na ako.



I glanced at her, she's doing the takeout orders, and then humakbang na ako palayo. Maybe this is the time na tama na ang pag iistalk sa kanya, I don't want to be a masochist, mahirap na. Pumunta na ako sa parking kinuha ko yung car keys at pinindot ang lock para mag unlock.



"Andrews?" Tumingin ako sa babaeng katabi ng kotse ko.


"Sorry?" I can't remember her.


"It's me, Autumn."



"Autumn? Sorry pero.."


"Sky Harris Andrews, ang heartthrob nun sa Brent Academy." Then she crossed her arms and lean on her silver car.


"I'm really sorry, but I'm not good in memorizing a lot of people's name when I was in High School." Napakamot ulo na lang ako.


"Hahaha! You're still the same, I'm Autumn Jessie Santos, the super chubby one.." Then she smiled.


"Autumn Jessie Santos? *processing* *recalling* oh! Ikaw na pala yan? Ang laki ng pinagbago mo."


"Whoah. Nagtatagalog ka na pala ng diretso! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"


"Well, natuto na rin ako. Iba ka na sa dating Jessie na binu-bully before."


"Yeah. After high school, kinareer ko talaga ang pag gym at pagda diet. Heehee. Kamusta ka na? Ang tagal na nating hindi nagkita."


"Well, worth it naman yung sacrifices mo noon, look at you, ibang iba na sa dati. I'm good; I'm actually working at Makati. And you?"


"Working and at the same time studying."



"Really? Where?"


"Assistant photographer and I'm taking photography class during Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at PU."


"Loyal ka talaga sa Princeton."


"Same as you."


"Well I need to go na, I still have a work."


"Oh, you're working in Makati and you're here in Taguig. Who's the lucky girl?"


"Wala pa rin. Single pa rin until now." Ngumit na lang ako.


"Ikaw single? Eh halos habulin ka noon ng mga babae hanggang sa bahay nyo. Hahaha!"


"That was before, now's different. Oh by the way here's my calling card, you might dine with us. I need to go na, by Jessie!"


"Okay. Here's mine. And don't ever call me Jessie again! Naaalala ko lang nung high school. Autumn, Autumn na lang!"


"I prefer Jessie, or Jess." I tapped her shoulder and go inside my car and start the engine. Seasons, nasa seasons ang pangalan nya. Summer, tapos biglang Autumn. Tsss. -___-
