Half a Soul

chapter fourteen

Steam filled the bathroom.
Tilting my head back so the hot water ran over my face..

I hummed quietly to myself...
Even after the nightmare of the last few days.. I felt at peace..... happy.
I'll admit something happened when Jason toke my blood.. beyond the pleasure that came with his bite..
He was somehow a part of me.. I could feel him...
His wants and needs....
That fact that he wanted a family..
What his favorite food was...
There wasn't anything I didn't know about him..... He was a open book to me..

I grabbed the shampoo and began washing my hair...
My stomach let out a loud grumble..
I speed up washing the shampoo out of my hair and grabbing the conditioner.
I started day dreaming about fried chicken as I worked the conditioner threw my hair...

Then I was hit with a strong sense of fear....
Jason was afraid........
I quickly washed out my hair and stepped out of the shower.

Wrapping myself in the huge towel,
I eyed the black lacy dress..
I took my time drying off... in no hurry to get dressed..
After removing the tags I slipped on the the bra and panties... They were surprisingly soft..
I looked into the mirror...... the girl in the mirror was different.... more tone then before.
After a few more seconds of looking into the mirror I slip the dress over my ....
My breath caught when I looked back to the mirror..
I've never looked this pretry..
I really need to give John a sincere thank you...
I left the bathroom and headed for kitchen....
I couldn't wait to show jason..

John was back within ten minutes..
His arms full of bags..
Holy cow.... how much did you buy Jared said..
What?
Jason said she wanted everything...

I watched my best friends fighting over the amount of food..
John had already pulled out two bucket of chicken..
I was just about to put my two cents in when both went quite, their mouths falling open.
I followed their eyes..
Heat shot to all the wrong places .

Considering I stood next to my buddy's.
Star stood in the entrance to the kitchen.
Oh my god that dress should be against the law.. Jared said..
The smile fell from star face and she started backing out of the room.. Her cheeks turning red...
Excuse me boys..
I caught star half way down the hall that led to the bedroom..
I pulled her back against my chest wrapping my arms around her.
My finger resting just above her bellybutton..
I am sorry she whispered.
You have nothing to be sorry for your smoking in that dress...
She turned in my arms looking up at me..
She smiled shyly......
You like the dress then...
Honey I more then like the dress i growled into her neck.....
I had to leave the kitchen just so those
Two didn't see how much I like that dress...

I was nibbling my way to her ear, she moaned.... But the rumbling in her tummy was so loud I pulled back grinning down at her.
Hungry?
I think I could eat a whole cow..........
Laughing..... I grabbed her hand and led her back to the kitchen.....

The kitchen smelled like heaven ...
I am sure my eyes were bugging out of my head...
The kitchen island was covered in food.
I was such a hurry I almost tripped over my own feet....
John handed me a plate...
Oh my god.... all of my favorite foods..
John grinned...
Jason came up behind me taking the plate out my hand..
Hey....
Don't worry he winked at me and began to load my plate with huge amount of food......
I started to protest, that to much....
Jason just nodded to a chair...
I slip into my chair and Jason set the plate in front of me..
I picked my fork up and dug in...
About four or five big mouth full later I realized all three of the boy's were watching me eat..
Hey stop it... I said around another mouth full...
That seemed to get their attention.
Then they filled their own paltes..
So will take her to your mom then
John asked?
Yes Jason around a mouth full of food.
She'll be safer if she surround by more of our kind..
Yea he have to be pretty dum to come after her in the heart of vampire country..... Jared add.
That's what I hoping jason.said.
The way I see it it, we've got two days before he's able to make this far...
He has to travel on human transportation.....
So tomorrow night will go to my parents...
I hope like hell they will help. John said...
I glanced over at star.
She was happily eating unaware of the conversation going on round her...
We were talking low enough her human ear couldn't hear us..
I think once my mom lays eyes on her daughter..... human or not she going to stop a nothing to convince father to help...
I Smiled my mom was going to love my little star...
Unlike humans we didn't believe our other half were daughter in-laws..
No they were true daughters seeing that they have the other half of our souls..

John and Jared stood up....
I think we should head out for the night....
Ok I'll see you two in the morning...
They wished star a goodnight then they both vanished...

I smiled to myself star was half asleep sitting at the counter....
I walked over and scooped her out of the chair..
She screamed ....
I am sorry sweetheart I didn't mean to scare you...
I think it's time for bed...
Her cheeks turned red and she pushed her face against my chest trying to hid her face..
I chuckled and walked down the hall to our bedroom....
Our bedroom..... The thought my me happy...
I sat her down on the bed...
I'll get you something better to sleep in.... walking to my dresser I pulled out one of my shirts..
But when I went to give it to her she was already fast asleep at the end of the bed...
I tossed the shirt on the floor and picked her back up...
I pulled the covers back and laid her down..
I tucked the blanket in around her.
I stood and watched her sleep.
I can't believe I finally found my soul.... My heart...
But the fight to keep her was just starting...
I left the room and headed back to the living room...
I had a lot of planning yet.....
