The Phone

After Bo left for work on Monday I ran to my room and powered on the phone. To my surprise it appeared to be Jungkook's phone! 

It started dinging immediately with notifications from the weekend powered off. I had to wait several very long minutes while they were pouring in. When it went silent I picked it up and saw that most of the notifications were games and emails but there was a few texts. 

I didn't want to invade his privacy but I thought there might be some that were actually from him to me so I nervously opened the text messages. 

All of them were from other group members phones. He must not text others much or had obtained a new phone and messaged the new number to his main contacts. I went into the individual messages and perused them to see if it was him messaging me. 

There was a couple from Jin, one from V, and the rest were Jimin. They were all for me. Cute. 

Most recent - to oldest. Each text in descending order:

Jin's Phone: Hi! I will have a new phone on Monday, I will try to call after I get it. JK

Jin's Phone: We are all worried about you and even though all the members know what's going on I trust them and they will be discreet so Bo won't find out.  JK

V's Phone: Hi! Thinking of you, guessing it will be Monday before you power it on, don't worry. 

Jimin's Phone:  Hey Rose, last one tonight, promise. I have talked to the members and they are all concerned about your situation. We are trying not to do anything until we talk to you.  JK

Jimin's Phone: Are you Ok? I am sorry to keep messaging but Jimin reminded me that you might not be able to check these until Bo is at work. I am worried though so if you do power it on please let me know on this number. JK

Jimin's Phone: Without making it obvious I talked to some others about Bo and you. They say this was the first time they had ever seen you. Have you really been married since like 2015? JK

Jimin's Phone: I was freaking out when you left, are you OK? JK

Jimin's Phone: As soon as you can message me! JK

Jimin's Phone: Rose, I am freaking out a little, this was kind of forward of me to hand you my phone. I didn't freak you out did I? JK

Jimin's Phone: I just handed you my phone. I saw the bruise. I hope it wasn't him. I want to help you. This isn't just about me thinking you are beautiful. If you are in trouble please be honest with me. 

Jimin's Phone: I want to get to know you, it may be wrong of me but I already can't get you out of my head. About to hand you my phone on the sly because I want to get to know you. It isn't just that though, I have a bad feeling about you and Bo. You looked scared. Please, if I am wrong about this feel free to just tell me to leave you alone and trash the phone. JK

That was an awful lot to take in, but I couldn't help but feel a little giddy. When I met Jungkook, I felt something too.  I didn't want to get my hopes up but after out interactions at the party and these messages... 

I started to cry a bit. Could my life possible change for the better now? I was scared to hope but still nonetheless hoping. 

All of the sudden an unknown number started ringing in, and it was a video call!

I wanted to answer but what if it was Bo somehow? I hesitated then decided to block the camera with my thumb and answered it. 

"Hello! Rose?" It was Jungkook! I took my thumb off of the camera. 

"H-hi" Welp, down in the record books as an idiot.

"Rose! I am so glad to... Is that a black eye? WTF!"

"Oh, damn I forgot. I should have covered it up." not even thinking about what I was saying. 

"No! Don't ever hide anything from me Rose! I had a bad feeling about him when I met the guy many years ago but damn. When everyone finds out they will kill him, I will kill him!"

"You can't tell anyone!" Panic. What would he do to me if he got fired, I'm his wife. I have nothing of my own.  "Jungkook, if anyone finds out he will kill me.  I have no where to go, nothing of my own!"

"That doesn't matter. I will help you, Rose! You can't stay with him. Pack up your stuff and tell me where you are so I can come get you!"

"I don't know where I am. I don't go out much and when I do its with him." I got up and walked to the front door and was going to go out to the street to see what I could see but was shocked to see that the door locks had been changed. 

I tried to turn the knob but it was a new lock, I would have to have a key inside as well as out now. 

"I can't even go outside to look, he got new locks." I turned it around to show him and heard him let out a cry of frustration. 

"I will try to look into it, ok? Lets just talk for now." and he changed the subject so I couldn't really dwell on this new development. 

This wasn't like this before though. I used to be allowed to go downstairs to check the mail. Now I couldn't leave the apartment. 

I couldn't leave the apartment! What if there was a fire? How could he do this to me!
