Silence.

The silence devour the air, causing the atmosphere to almost seem suffocating. As I sat at the dining table, Julian to my left and his parents facing in front of me, I didn't know what to start from. I didn't know how to start conversations with parents, having never been in such experience with the exception of Iris and my own. Even with that, I didn't know how to start a conversation with parents who believes I'm dating their son.

"So," Jaycee cracks the silence as she stirs, pressing the fork against her food. The delicious creation of Mrs Dean's — bacon-tomato linguine with salmon on the side. "Is no one going to tell me why my swim teammate is at our family dinner?"

"She's your swim mate?" Mrs Dean queried, allowing Jaycee to nod her answer, "oh, that's probably where Julian and her met."

"What?" Jaycee shot up a brow, her stirred pasta sitting on her fork as she midway pass to her mouth. "What does that mean?"

"Well, she's your brother's girlfriend," Mrs Dean gushes, jabbing a hand in our direction as I tried to wave off the embarrassment that I felt, "don't they make such a cute couple?"

Jaycee turns to me with a quizzed look, before the corner of her lips perked in a corner smile, "yes, yes, they do,"  Jaycee goes along, as I frown. I try to see from her perspective, taming to see what is going on in that mind of hers. She knows we aren't dating, I told her myself. "Francena," she turns to me, "when did you guys started dating?"
