After a month long paralyzed situation and illness, his grandfather died today early morning. He is just 18 years old, too young to maintain momentum. It's been 6 hours; all relatives from far villages have reached the place. Closed ones and family members already been there for 3 to 4 hours and were waiting for last rituals of the dead, so as to contribute their part and leave for the day.
It's quite strange after a person is dead he becomes a mandatory formality to be fulfilled by people. People rush to take the body to the graveyard as soon as possible. So that they can plan on further things like prayer sitting and a mandatory feast if they lived long enough, how rude!
The boy in his late teenage years was witnessing all these. But he too was having his share in these formalities which made him guilty too.But some duties are beyond emotional burdens that have to be fulfilled anyway. The boy anyway did fulfill his share and it's been 7 days now. Most of his vacation of college gone this way only.
No person is sad anymore, nobody was. But they were relieved by the fact that they now don't have to take care of a death bed person anymore. He also was relieved and was not an exception. It was he, in last days of his grandfather who served him more than anyone. It was also he who didn't shade even a tear after his death, may be too young for that. Also there was nothing to cry about what his grandpa left to worry about. He left a whole process of living ideal life; a legacy should be carried further by generations to come.
Guests and closed friends have left the house by now, which gave him and his family a time to miss the dead. He cursed himself for saying the words to his grandfather which he said in a pure and healthiest manner that his grandpa now should die so that he can relax in his vacation time in which he was here. To which grandpa and grandma replied a big laughter and agreed also. They didn't know he will actually die by next month.
This memory gave him a disgust feeling, guilt, a life changing expressive lesson. He told these all to his dad in hurry and sobbed like a child, after all he was. He cried uncontrollably for almost an hour. The family has now scolded him to behave. They yelled it's enough now but he didn't or probably couldn't stop. Only his uncle could do the job now as he was close and friend to him. He came and he did his job. Boy has stopped and now slept. He never cried like that before, he not even cried before! That was his last day of a vacation, probably also last day of his TEENAGE too!
