I'm Flying high but I've got a feeling I'm falling
Falling for nobody else but you
The music swelled and you swayed. The glass of wine in your hand, your vision just slightly fuzzy. You hated parties. They certainly weren't your favorite thing. Yet here you were.
Couples were dancing. Holding each other close. And it made your heart hurt. Dumped less than a week ago, you felt bitter about all the love in the room. The sweet sounds of the song playing. It was romantic, everything about it.
You sat your glass down and made your way out onto the balcony, hoping the fresh air would sober you up. The sky was lit with stars, the Brooklyn bridge loomed in the distance. Stepping out, your heel caught the edge and before you knew it, you were falling.
You caught my eye
And I've got a feeling I'm falling
Strong arms wrapped around you, holding you up. Your face was buried in someone's strong chest and you looked up, straight into the bluest eyes you'd ever seen. His smile was bright as he helped you, his arms still tightly wrapped.
"Careful, Dollface. If you fall, I can't sweep you off your feet."
You couldn't help but grin at his words. Who was this man? And what right did he have to be so gorgeous? "You okay there?," he teased, a bemused look on his face. You realized you were staring and you blushed profusely.
Show me the ring and I'll jump right through
"You're some kinda dame," he chuckled, still amused by your silence. "I'm James, sweetheart. But everyone just calls me Bucky."
"Bucky...," you repeated and he nodded. "You gotta name, beautiful?," he asked and you nodded, giving it to him. "Perfect...," he sighed softly, his arms still wrapped tightly around your waist. "How much did you drink, Y/N?," he asked and you shrugged. You honestly couldn't remember.
I used to travel single,oh
We chance to mingle, oh
"What's got you all mixed up, huh?," he asked, starting to sway to the music and you closed your eyes, sighing softly. You couldn't understand it. It was like you'd known him forever. "Did someone hurt you?"
You nodded a bit, your head pressed against your chest. "Well, he don't know what he's missing'," he said softly over the music. He spun you carefully around the balcony and you couldn't help but giggle, your head spinning. You felt euphoric out here with this man.
Now I all a tingle over you
He hummed to the tune, still moving you around and you finally looked up, meeting his eyes again. They sparkled in the moonlight, making your heart race. This was what love at first sight felt like, you were sure of it.
He dipped his head slightly, his tongue darting out to lick his lips and you instinctively did the same. The blood was roaring in your ears, it was like the two of you were the only ones for miles.
"Can I kiss you, Doll?," he asked quietly and you nodded, your stomach full of butterflies. You felt like you were flying as soon as his lips touched yours. Like it was absolutely meant to be. Like this man was meant to be yours.
Hey mister parson stand by
For I've got a feeling I'm falling
Falling for nobody else but you
Oh, honey, oh honey, I never felt this way
He pulled back, searching your eyes. His heart was racing too. You could feel it beneath his jacket. What was this? "Honey...," he sighed softly, pressing his lips to yours again and you melted against him. "Oh sweetheart...,"
"I think I'm fallin' for you."
