"you look so pretty right now, you know that?" richie pushed a curl out of eddies face and admired how the slits of light from the setting sun hit the younger boys subtly tanned skin.
richies complement made eddies cheeks turn pink, which only made richie want to continue to complement him for the rest of his life. if calling eddie pretty somehow made him even prettier, richie would call eddie pretty every second of every day until he died.
"shut up," eddies voice was laced in faux annoyance. he smiled softly, a look of adoration spreading across his face as he saw the smile on richies face.
"i love this," richie whispered. he feels like he's said that eight hundred times since eddie had broken up with henry. richie almost felt bad. he knows that henry was in love with eddie, even if eddie said that he wasn't. he could see the pain on henry's face as eddie walked to his car. losing eddie had to be worst than anything, richie thought.
"love what?" eddie closed his eyes softly and moved closer to richie, his unclothed chest just barely meeting the others. richie traced shapes onto eddies back, focusing in on the tiny skin indent on his forehead. it was almost shaped as a heart, just a little bit off.
"this. us. you." richie ran his thumb across eddie's cheek.
eddie smiled, trying to bury the guilt that was still sitting in his chest. he hated feeling that way when richie was right here. when richie was all he wanted.
in time, eddie knew he'd feel different. he knew it would go away, but right now it felt like hell
