so i'm scrolling through this tumblr blog and i see a picture called, 'why i don't need feminism' and i just

im laughing so hard

because they people don't even know the definition of feminism

i will admit, some people don't need or want feminism

but some people do

but i would be able to accept their agruement  if it was correct like jesus!!

okay so some of these are saying, "i don't need feminism because i love and respect my husband" or "i don't need feminism because women aren't obressed!"

a) feminism isn't saying you can't love and respect your husband. it's the opposite. it's saying your husband cant lower you. and it says that women and men are equal

people are confusing feminism with female chauvinism

female chauvinism is the belief that women are better than men and everyone else

feminism is the belief that women are equal to men

"i don't need feminism because i don't choose to ignore the fact men have issues to!"

feminism isn't ignoring that.

feminism is highlighting the fact that women are more opressed than men. this is prooven because a) women are blamed for rape that wasn't their fault. b) women earn 75 cents for every dollar that a man earns.

like in feminism, there are women/men/inbetweens that believe women are better, but not all of us.
