How It Started

The Great Hall

Remus POV

I woke up entangled in blankets, I smelt something burning and opened my eyes. "You're smoking?" I asked noticing Sirius sitting on the bed with his leather pants on and a cigarette in hand.

"It's not the first time," he replied I rolled my eyes and took the cigarette from him.

"It's bad for your health and mine," I said tossing it out the window he rolled his eyes and got up.

"Breakfast starts soon and we have classes today," he said grabbing his shirt I got up and grabbed my clothes.

"We have to get our robes," I said pulling on my pants he nodded and left, odd, I finished dressing and walked towards the tower thinking over why Sirius would be mad at me. I spotted him pacing by a wall looking over his shoulder a cigarette in hand, I walked towards him taking great strides I reached him in a matter of seconds.

"What do you want?" He asked harshly trying to hide the cigarette in his robes I huffed out a breathe.

"What the hell is your problem?" I asked he rolled his eyes and continued his pacing, "was I not good last night?"

"No, you were good, it's nothing," he said and walked off I groaned at his sudden outburst and walked to the tower after I put on my robes I walked to the Great Hall. When I entered I saw Sirius talking with Guy, even though he wanted to avoid him, then I saw something I'd rather die then see Guy leaned in and kissed Sirius and he let it happen. I ran out of the Great Hall tears streaming down my face I ran into someone but didn't bother to look I ran out of the castle, the grounds were still icy and snow covered most of it, as I was running to Hogsmeade I slipped on a particularly large piece of ice and hit my head on the stone wall and that's all I remember before blacking out.

Sirius POV

When I went to get my robes I sucked on one of my Sugar Quills for a bit thinking of Remus as I did so since he was the one who got them for me. Something strange happened all thoughts of Remus were gone and were clouded by thoughts of Guy, how handsome and surly he was I walked out of the tower after pulling on my robes thinking of Guy and seeing him in the Great Hall. I ran into Remus who was confused and screamed at me I rolled my eyes at him and walked off smiling as Guy popped into my mind when I reached the Great Hall I sat by Guy who smiled and piled food onto my plate I smiled and ate a few minutes into it he leaned over and kissed me I kissed back and pulled away to continue eating.

"What the actual hell, Sirius Black?!" Someone screamed in my ear I looked and saw Lily standing over me her face red with anger.

"What do you mean?" I asked calmly for everyone turned their head to watch us.

"What I mean is last night you and Remus ditched us and never went back to the tower and I knew what you two were doing and where you were because I know things and now your hanging out with Guy? I just ran into Remus who was spilling tears and running away from the Great Hall I didn't follow because I knew it was you and he'd be fine after he cried it out!" She yelled James came rushing to her side and I looked at Guy who kissed my cheek I looked back at them confused.

"I don't see the problem, Guy's wonderful, I'm in love with him," I said confusion etched on my face she groaned and stormed off James close behind her after sneering at me.

A little into my second lesson I became worried for Remus hadn't shown up yet. My thoughts were clouded by him I raised my hand and the teacher walked over to me since we were taking notes. "What's the matter Mr. Black?" She asked I pointed towards the door and made a movement of needing water she nodded and I walked out. I didn't really need water I just wanted to take a walk get Remus off my mind I knew I hurt him but I didn't know how, when I reached the entrance hall someone burst in a body levitating behind them I tried to look but the blood that seeped from his head covered his features. "Madam Pomfrey warn her," the girl said I nodded and ran ahead of her
