"Can you not turn into an absolute dick right now, please?" I gave Tom a disgusted look and turned my back to him, as far as I could. We were sat in the car outside Jake's house. He had invited us round for a small get together and games night.
Tom had decided that he wasn't happy with me because I got confused and told him left instead of right when giving him directions; we ended up in the city centre, on a one way system, and had to drive for an extra 15 minutes.
One: it was dark. Two: I've been at work all day. Three: he wouldn't let me put his sat nav on because the voice annoys him (even though, you can mute the bloody volume).
"I'm not acting like a dick, you're just being overdramatic." He slimmed his eyes at me.
"How is you yelling at me to 'stop being dumb' and 'pay fucking attention' me being overdramatic?!" I scoffed.
"You never fucking pay attention! You're always off in the clouds! It's so annoying. Do you have an attention span of 2 year old? Actually, don't answer that, I know the answer." Tom pushed his tongue against his cheek, implying that he was about to lose it and this was him holding back.
"Fuck you! You know what, don't even bother coming in with me. Go home! I'll get a taxi. Jake doesn't like you anyway!" I snapped at him.
"Fine I will!" He hit his hand against the steering wheel. I unbuckled my seatbelt as fast as I could and grabbed the bag of food and drink, I had brought, off of the backseat.
"Don't text me! And don't randomly show up at my flat to try and convince me that this was all my fault but you're sorry anyway. I'm sick of this!" I made sure I had everything and put my hand on the door handle. "Actually, give me my key back."
"What?" He said shocked. I held my hand out.
"You heard me. Give me my key." He scoffed and turned off the engine, taking his keys out of his car. He took my key off his keyring, shoving it in my hand.
"Thanks!" I gave him a forced smile and got out of the car. I walked up the path towards Jake's shared house, tripping over nothing on my way but pretending it didn't happen by carrying walking.
Tom drove away, not even waiting to see if I got into Jake's house safe. Fuck him. I pressed the doorbell, realising it no longer worked, then knocked. A slightly tipsy Jake answered the door.
"Yooo! Isla, my sister from another mister!" He let the end of his sentence drag and eventually trail off. "Where's the boyfriend?"
"Hell for all I care!" I said aggressively and shook my head. He stepped aside and let me in. There was laughing and chatter coming from the living room.
"Guys, Isla is here!" Jake said walking into the living room, probably deciding it was best not to question me about Tom until I had calmed down.
"Hey!" I waved. "I'm just going to grab a drink and put this in the kitchen." I lifted the shopping bag, I was carrying, up slightly to show what I was referring to.
