"What was Morocco like?" I asked Isla as we walked through the city together.
"It was amazing. I stayed in an ecovillage and learnt so much about sustainable living and permaculture. I was on a meditation retreat so it was amazing for my mental health. I'm just glad I admitted to myself there was a problem before it was too late." She smiled at me, her eyes were slightly glossy but they just shone like starlight. I cleared my throat at the mention of last time.
"How are you feeling?" We crossed the street towards the city.
"I'm doing a lot better." She smiled at me with her blue eyes and giggled. She stopped walking, when I did.
"What?" She asked me as I pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Her skin looked soft and glowing and her lips plump, so kissable.
"I can't believe you're really here." My thumb brushed against her blushed cheek. It felt just as soft as it looked. God she's so beautiful.
"Maybe it's all a just a dream." She whispered to me. Her voice sent shivers down my spine. Why does she do this to me? She makes me so weak against her.
"If it is, I don't ever want to wake up." My hand entwined with hers at her side. My eyes glanced between her lips and eyes, not being able to decide on which to focus on.
"Can I kiss you?" I asked in a whispered tone.
"Even though after tomorrow we won't see each other again for a while?" Her eyebrows furrowed.
"I'll take that chance." I stepped even closer to her.
"Okay." She smiled at me.
I inhaled shakily like it was my nervous first kiss all over again, before lightly brushing my lips against hers. As soon as I got taste of her sweet, coffee-laced lips, I pressed my lips against hers like our lives depended on it.
My other hand tangled in her hair that was blowing in the cold wind. I felt my heart thump against my chest as I felt fireworks explode in my stomach. Fuck, I love her so much. Her teeth gently grazed my bottom lip as we pulled out of the embrace.
"You're so alluring." I whispered as she looked up at me threw her eyelashes.
"It's crazy how one kiss can make you forget almost a years worth of separation." Her thumb traced my bottom lip. The sound of a car horn brought us out of our trace and into the real world.
"It's getting cold. Do you want to get food?" I asked as I noticed the sun beginning to set.
"That sounds perfect." She wrapped her arm around my waist, as I rest mine over her shoulders and pulled her close as we walked to find a restaurant.
11 months earlier...
"Shall we have our own royal wedding?" I joked to Isla as we laid in our hotel bed watching Harry and Meghan's royal wedding.
