I watched the band go through soundcheck and sort out their set to ensure the best performance they could give. I was sat at the bar with my notebook and pen, doodling and writing away.
I began to think about last night. How it felt so right. How every time he touched me I felt like I was burning with pleasure. How beautifully he treats me.
My finger traced my bottom lip, chasing the memory of his touch. I started to write, pouring our sensual energy into the poetry. It almost felt wrong to be writing this down, especially in public. When I finished it, I kept reading it over and over in my head.
"What you writing?" Jawn came and sat next to me.
"Oh nothing, silly poems." I coughed at the sudden invasion.
"Let me see." Jawn said non the wiser, just trying to be a supportive friend.
"No, it's nothing good." I tried to deter him but he managed to take the notebook from me and read the poem.
"Oh." He looked between the poem, Awsten, who was still on stage, and me. "Did you and him?" I nodded.
"We're together again." I smirked. I love Jawn, he's like a brother to me, just like Otto, Geoff and Lucas are. I was desperate to tell someone since I asked Awsten this morning.
"Holy shit! Isla, that's awesome!" Jawn hugged me. "When did he ask you?"
"Actually, I asked him. We were talking about it this morning at breakfast and I asked him to be my boyfriend again." I genuinely smiled.
"I'm so happy for you both. You're both so perfect for each other." Jawn beamed. "Who else knows?"
"No one. We were planning on telling people after the show."
"So are you still going to do the long distance thing?"
"I'm gonna stay with Awsten for a few weeks in LA after the tour while they're recording the album, then I don't know what's gonna happen from there."
"We've all missed you being around so much. Like who's gonna randomly scream shit in public?"
"Awsten." I laughed.
"True. That's why you're perfect for each other, you both end up randomly screaming things at each other. Anyway, I'm gonna try pretend I didn't read that poem and sort out my equipment." I was left alone at the bar, grinning like a Cheshire cat without realising.
I knew that they were going to take another thirty minutes, I did used to have to go through this everyday for months after all, so I decided to go get some coffee from the cafe around the corner.
My phone started ringing whilst I was waiting for my order. It was Awsten.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Where did you go?" He said slightly worried.
"I went to get coffee."
"Oh. Good. Cool. Rightio. See you in a bit then?" I could tell that he was still worried about me, after all why wouldn't he be. The last time he saw me I was a wreck.
