An alarm blows, and everyone in the room gets excited but me. I didn't really want any part of this... But for Joey, maybe this can be an experience where I can teach him to reach higher than myself. He shouldn't be reaching to be the King of Games, he should reach higher! "Joey, are you ready? I think its time." He smiles down to me, merely raising a thumbs up in response. Then, a speaker begins to play. "Attention all qualifiers, our first round is about to begin. We'd like to call Rena Marine to the right hallway, and Yugi Mutou to the left. Both contestants wait in the opposite waiting rooms once you get there, and get prepared for the first match of the Qualifiers tournament!" I feel nervous to the call, but the girl seems to stand from her seat immediately. Either she is just really confident, or she's never heard of me before. "Go get 'em, Yuge." I stand as she begins walking over to the right hallway. I turn around to Joey, melancholy. "You don't need to feel bad. This might be fun for me. But... Aren't you coming with me?" "I-I don't think I can, Yuge." The clerk walks over to us. "I'm afraid the blonde is right. He cannot come with you." I can't help but feel anger to that. "You don't have to be so rude, sir." "What now?" "You know what, clerk? He is coming with me, or I forfeit my spot. Something tells me that your superior wouldn't like that so much, now would he?" Joey looks shocked to the statement, but I just wink down to him. "Fine... He can go with you. But he's not allowed on the field, is that clear?" "Thats okay." I say, glad that he understands. "Alright Joey, come on!" "You only get five minutes to prepare. I'd hurry." I nod, Joey and I begin jogging down the leftmost hallway. It begins to turn around the dome structure, and it eventually ends with a lobby, Cyan in color. There are three seats, a table, and a painting of Blue-Eyes on the wall. "Of course Kaiba would have somethin' like dat' on the wall. Right, Yuge?" "I mean, it does make sense. This is the Blue-Eyes emporium." "Never mind that, Yuge. We need to get you nice and ready." He sits down quick, patting the seat beside him to gesture for me to sit there. Theres an opening exit to the field, and I notice a lobby like this one on the opposite side of the stadium, a grass plain in the middle. "That Rena girl must be on the opposite side of us, preparing." "So what, Yuge? We need to get you ready." I nod, sitting beside him. "Whats your plan, Yuge?" I sigh, not really having much of one. "We brought my Mage deck, so I'm gonna use it to the best of my ability. Thats my plan." He smiles to that. "I'm sorry, Yuge... You probably feel bad when you see Atem's cards, don't you?" "I mean... Yeah, but... At least it keeps him in my memory." He nods to that, taking off his duel disk. "Want to use mine? You didn't seem to bring one." "Theres a provided one on that shelf, Joey. Thank you, though." He nods, looking a little embarrassed. The intercom blows out. "Yugi Mutuo, it is time to start!" I nod, trying to get serious. "See you, Joey." I stand up, taking the blue duel disk provided and walk to the exit, the light beaming in the outdoor stadium. "Wait, Yuge!" "Yeah?" I look back. "Knock 'em dead." He winks to me, and I can't help but wink back, running out into the blinding light, the hard ground turning to grass as I reach the fields center. The girl was already waiting, seemingly impatient. "Good luck, Rena." She hesitates. "You too, I suppose." Suddenly, some sort of judge exits the main lobby door and meets us at the center. "Round One of our Qualifiers shall be Rena Marine versus Yugi Mutuo!" The crowd cheers, which seems to be filled with many people. Its a bit nerve racking. "On our right, we have a 1645 power deck! And to our left, we have a 2392!" The crowd bursts to my deck power number, and it honestly makes me feel bad for Rena. I'm sure its a confidence killer. But honestly, she still looks really ready. Her determination is very strong. "Duelists, ready your duel disks!" I raise my duel disk, and its two parts form together, and hers is somewhat unique. Its a green duel disk with a card placer in the shape of a dragons arm. It spins once before forming. "Alright, Rena! I'm ready!" "We'll see about that."
