My teeth are broken, chipped down to ragged edges
from sinking my teeth into my fingers and
grinding them down too harshly against each other.

My skin turned paler in the cold weather and
I only wished to camouflage myself within the snow,
Bury myself alive and allow the forming blood
to create shapes within it.

My feet are swollen and sore and perhaps I should rest,
But I have an overwhelming unknown fear that
something is going to happen,
So I keep walking.

Seasons are changing within my surroundings
with every step;
I feel I have been at this for years, yet it has only been a minute.
Wind and distant animal calls are the only noises I can hear,
An unnerving and anticipating aura
seeping through the atmosphere.

I felt the rain drop onto my skin like pins and needles,
Soaking my hair to lonesome pink strands.
My eyes were closed and the sound felt like waves,
comforting me with the idea of being elsewhere.
As if the sound was secluded to only my ears,
Like music through my earphones.

I could hear Elliott Smith's voice in between
my foregrounded thoughts.
Roman Candle played distantly and
As I listened closely
The words seeped from my mouth subconsciously.
