Chapter 1

The sound of war echoes throughout my head, bullets ripping throughout my head, screams getting louder and explosions making everything louder. My chest pounding feeling like my heart is gonna blow. I felt my gut aching and next thing I know is I'm throwing up again. I really have got to stop drinking my sorrows away. I fell on my ass in the alleyway near the bar. The sound of cars moving along the street finally drowning away the clear as day sounds from my head. I see a shadow in the night hoping it's the reaper to take me away. Instead it was Marcus, coming to help my sorry ass again.

"You have got to stop doing the mano" His voice threw out in the dark.

"I know brother, just get me home." I said

He helped me up and we began walking out into the light. The street was filled with people, cheering and enjoying their time. It seemed so peaceful yet they ignore the reasons why they get to celebrate. Then again I'm no reason to congratulate for them being able to enjoy life. I'm a miserable excuse. But hopefully the new year brings in something better for me. I slowly snapped out of my thoughts as I watched my apartment door open. Marcus mved me to the couch before putting me down on it. I sat there as he joined beside me.

"Happy New Year's mano, hopefully everything turns around for both of us." Marcus said

"I'll cheers to that brother, but for now I don't feel so go----...." My voice died as I went out like a Christmas light.

The night flew by as the sunlight hit my face through my bedroom window. I looked around wondering how in the hell I got in here. I started to move around before finally managing to get on my feet. My head felt like someone split it open as I rubbed my temples. My bladder burned like a fire was lit under it as I made my way across the hall to the bathroom. I was so worn out I didn't notice someone was taking a shower as I pulled my boxers down and let it rip. The sound of urine hit the water which then started to make the shower stand out. I looked around before the water was turned off and the curtain whipped open. My eyes went wide as a beautiful lady was stark naked in front of me. I turned away just enough so she couldn't see me. She screamed and grabbed her towel quickly to cover herself up. By then Marcus barged in the door with a spatula and a frying pan. To his enjoyment he busted out laughing as he looked at both of us. After I exited the bathroom and put some clothes on I went out to the kitchen by then everything was calmed down. The female was sitting at the dinner table as Marcus was finishing up the rest of the bacon. I opened the fridge door and of course the silence was broken.

"How you feelin' Jesse?" Marcus asked

"Alot better than last night, just some slight confusion." I responded as I walked into the living room.

"Ah...well it has been an intense morning." He said

I cleared my throat and sighed. "Who's the girl?" I asked

"Her, she's mi sobrina." He answered as he placed some bacon on a plate.

"Your niece?! Since when did you have a sister?" I screamed in shock.

"My sister is older than me by like twenty years, plus we don't stay in contact." He said as he handed the plate of food to the girl. He shortly joined me in the living room.

"So how did she get here?" I whispered

"She flew in from San Andreas, something happened with my sister. I need to go out there." He muttered to me as I looked over at the female.

"I got a buddy out there, I'll see what he can do. How old is she?" I said

"Well I'm twenty-five, she was born in fivety-one, my sister is forty-five." He responded

"So she is nineteen." I told him, he just nodded. So thank god she isn't underage.

"I'll make a phone call brother, see if I can get us out there." I said as I got up and walked towards the phone on the wall. I dialed the number up.

After a few rings sounded put I was feeling nervous, worried in fact incase he was still holding a grudge for what happened in the past. 'Dear God please, give me some help here.' I prayed in my head before someone picked the phone up.

"Hello" A raspy voice answered.
