Cheap Amusement

I gave you my heart and you tossed it aside like a cheap toy. You made me realize that I was nothing to you, nothing but an amusement to pass the time. I cry as I am slapped in the face with this knowledge. My heart crumbles to dust and my soul longs for escape. I loved you like no other but as it turns out I was nothing to you. You told me you loved me but now I know you lied. The space where my heart once was is now dark an empty. As I try to piece myself back together I wonder if I was ever meant to be happy or if I am cursed when it comes to love. But right now darkness is my solace as I try to keep from becoming completely hollow.
