You promised we would be together
But you left me for another
You promised your heart to me
But you gave it away to someone else
You promised me so many things
Yet you always broke those promises
I left but came back when you said you had changed
And you promised me that this would never happen again
But here you are breaking all those promises all over again
I can't trust you anymore
So here I go out the door once more
And this time I'm not looking back
Keep your broken promises they mean nothing to me
I can't stand you anymore
You made me love you
Only you broke my already fragile heart to pieces once more
I refuse to listen to your pleads
It's over, we are no more
You had your chance and you lost it
And I am gone

This came to mind as I was thinking over the events of my life and I know it may sound lame or cheesy but poetry is the one place I can truly express what I am feeling inside. I know I haven't written a lot of poetry lately but that may change.
