Tristen was as good as his word. He arrived at exactly the time he was suppose to arrive to. I was busy looking for his car to pull into the drive way by window watching. I wanted to squeal with delight when I spotted his mustang pulling in. I kept my proper composure despite the squealing inside myself. I announced his arrival and hurried to the bathroom to make sure I was still together before he saw me.

My father greeted him and welcomed him into our home. I was peeking around the corner to see how nice he looked and to see if he was nervous. He stood flashing his bright smile and complimenting the nice smell of food. He looked very appropriate. He was wearing khaki dress pants, with a yellow button up shirt. However the buttons was open, exposing a white under shirt. He was also wearing the same shoes that he had on when we first met.

He stopped everything when I entered the family room to give my greeting.

I strutted myself gracefully and full of confidence. I knew I was putting on airs, but I wanted this moment to be remembered as perfect. I knew I was the clumsy type that did all of the wrong moves at the most inappropriate times. This was my day. I was going to make the most of it.

I approached him with a big smile. I gave him a small, light hug, and kissed him on the cheek ever so gently.

"Good to see you again. I am glad you found your way ok." I said politely.

"Wow, you look stunning!" He muttered still looking me over. I beamed with happiness.

"You look very handsome as well." I complimented back.

"I see you have met my parents, Mom and Dad this is Tristen." I did the introductions, they all shook hands. I offered Tristen my elbow.

"Shall we eat?" I asked gracefully, and we all entered the dining room. I never knew I had such a take charge personality. I was impressed with myself. I looked at my mother who was smiling and encouraging me along.

We all was seated at the table. Tristen was a little quiet and I could tell that the formality of the occasion was a bit new to him, but he held his confidence and I was very impressed with his manners.

My mother poured us all a glass of water quickly and returned to her seat. We all reached hands and my father blessed our table. We all in unison gave our Amen's and the feast began.

I did not want to let go of Tristen's hand, but I gave it a squeeze and started preparing my salad. I don't think the mood was awkward, I think it was all of the wonderful food that allowed us to eat in silence. The only noise at our table was the clicking of silverware against the dishes. I kept looking at Tristen and he would be smiling. He even winked at me once. I would say he was getting more comfortable with us.

My mother was the perfect hostess, keeping our glasses full of sweet tea or milk. When we all finished we properly thanked her for preparing such a wonderful meal. My father leaned back and rubbed his full stomach as normal.

"So, Tristen tell us a little about yourself." My father started the conversation.

"There is not too much to tell really. I am an only child. I am also a senior in high school. I am planning on college as soon as I graduate. I am undecided on what college at this time. I enjoy the golf team at school, and I am a big softball fan." He said smiling.

"Any idea of a career path yet?" Asked my father.

"Well sir, I have been thinking of joining my father at his law firm. However, I am keeping my options open just in case it's not something I would be good at." Answered Tristen in a serious manner. My father seemed to be impressed with his answers. My mother began clearing the table of dinner dishes and setting out coffee mugs and began pouring fresh coffee in our cups. She also brought out a platter with a sugar cup and cream. She sat out new silverware and dessert plates. She started serving us all banana pudding, and she then took her seat after we was all served.

The table went back to silence. No matter how full we all was, we still devoured our dessert. After we all finished she quickly cleared the table and left us drinking coffee. She excused herself to begin loading the dishwasher full of our dirty dinner dishes.

We all chatted and drank our coffee. Tristen and my father discussed sports for awhile. My father announced after finishing his coffee that he was going to retreat to his chair and read the newspaper. Tristen looked at me with a big grin. I smiled back and squeezed his hand.

I announced that we was going to sit outside for awhile. My mother nodded with approval and went back to cleaning up the kitchen. We held hands to the porch never letting go even while seating.

"What do you think so far" I asked anxiously.

"I know now why you are so different." He answered smiling. I leaned my head onto his shoulder.

"Are you comfortable?" I asked peeking up at his lips.

"Very." He answered smiling, and he kissed the top of my head lightly. I could have melted.

"You have a wonderful family." He said giving me a warm smile. I returned his smile.

"Is your family like mine?" I asked curiously.

"We are not as together as your family is. My father does a lot of business trips. It's generally my mom and I at home. My father dedicates the weekends to us." He answered in a soft tone.

"I would be lost if my father was gone all of the time." I said smiling softly.

"It shows how much pride your father takes in his family. That's a rare treasure you have these days." Tristen said leaning his cheek on the top of my head. I closed my eyes, taking in everything to heart.

I was comfortable. I felt secure in his arms. We had a brief moment of silence. It was peaceful. I was taking in every moment to remember years to come.

As we nestled into each other my perfect evening was shattered. Walking on the sidewalk in front of our house was Danica and two of her followers.
