I had the most refreshing night of sleep that I undoubtedly needed. I did not stir all night.

When I awoke the next day it was a lot later than I normally slept. I was in a slumber most of the day. I got up and ate a small breakfast. My mother had already cooked and had the kitchen cleaned by the time I made it to the kitchen. I knew to eat light considering the greasy food I had ate on our date the night before. I did not want to feel too guilty about missing my mothers breakfast. I did enjoy eating as a family, however I was completely exausted.

My father was already out in the garden, gathering more vegetables before summer officially ended. My mother was on the back deck stringing and breaking fresh green beans. She smiled at me when I slid open the patio doors. I was still wearing my pajamas and I am sure my hair resembled a punk rock hair do. I was not too worried. They had seen me at my worst and at my best.

"You just now waking up Daisy?" My mother asked suspiciously. My guilty grin told her the answer, but I nodded my head yes anyways.

"We really did not get a chance to talk about your date last night. Did everything go well?" Asked my mother while she continued breaking green beans.

"We had a lovely time." I said smiling in a daze as I recalled the fun we shared. My mother took a moment to smile at me. I assumed it was an encouraging smile, and she wanted more details.

"We watched his church members play a close game of softball. He was well known and they all wanted him to play ball. He insisted on watching them play with me along his side. He then treated me to one of the tastiest chili dogs I have ever bitten into. We ate our chili dog and the game actually finished earlier than expected. After the game we went to a small diner owned by his aunt and ordered cheeseburgers, onion rings and chocolate milkshakes. He ordered it all to go, then he took me to a lawn chair theater and we ate our food while watching an old romantic movie. We watched half of it, then he announced it was time to take me home." I recalled the moments of our date. My mother seemed pleased with my discription.

"He seems like a thoughtful boy. I see how fond you are growing to each other. Just remember you are just beginning a new journey. You need to take your time and remember your own wants and priorities. I know the feeling of male attention is extraordinary, but we don't always end up with our high school sweethearts later in life. In time we grow and sometimes journey off to paths that creates changes into our life." My mother stopped what she was doing and was looking at me with sincerity. I knew what she was saying. While with Tristen my mind blanked out and focused on him. When he mentioned living day by day, I focused in on those words. My life had taken so many changes that I should keep my future options open.

"He asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted." I told my mother after her talk. I wanted to be honest and also to seek her wisdom on it. My main concern was a long distant relationship.

"I was sure he would ask you. I suppose a relationship will be a new experience for you. I just want you and Tristen to take your time with each other. I never experienced a long distant relationship but I have always heard absence makes the heart grow fonder." My mother said giving me a soft smile. I returned her smile and stepped back into the house.

I decided to get dressed for what was left of the day. As I walked into my bedroom I could hear my phone alerting me of a message. My heart skipped a beat. I knew it was just a teenager crush, but being my first one and with a really hot guy, I was up for the adventure.

I quickly made my way to my phone. I had 2 unread messages. The first one read; "Good morning beautiful." and the second one read; "Are you still asleep?" I had a big happy smile. I was on his mind.
