Taehyung's POV
Okay thank God it's warm out, I thought as I made my way out of the apartment. I decided to wear this outfit today because yesterday I played it pretty safe. Plus I got a positive response from Jeongguk so that made me a bit more confident.
"Hey Jimin," I asked the small pumpkin headed boy walking next to me.
"What?" he replied, looking over at me while simultaneously tripping over a rock, cheeks reddening in response.
"How does it feel?" I asked, trying to hold back my oncoming grin.
HIs eye brows scrunched together and he looked at me in confusion. "How does what feel?"
"How does it feel to be shorter than the shortest person in the friend group?" I asked, looking down at my heels that made me two inches taller than him. I finally let my grin take over as he let out a low "aish" and slapped my arm, raising his hand again as a threat.
I laughed at the older's annoyance and realized we had reached the café. I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, calming down before I made a fool of myself for the second time in two days. I opened the door, signaling the bell, and walked in, my heels echoing off the tile, Jimin following in beside me.
"Hello welcome to Peach Pink Café how may I- omo! It's you again! Wahhhh," he smiled and sighed after taking in my appearance. My spaghetti strap crop top revealed a lot more than yesterday, showing off my tummy, and my hair was wavy with large hoop earrings.
"Stunning," Jeongguk whispered under his breath from behind the counter. I don't think he meant for anyone to hear that, but too late now, his cheeks were already starting to flare with pink.
"What was that?" Jimin asked with an innocent smile, acting as if he knew nothing. That Soab.
"Huh? Oh! N-nothing!" Jeongguk awkwardly laughed it off. Huh, I thought, So he's not as cool and collected as I thought he was.
Jimin nodded, acting as if he believed him.
Jeongguk cleared his throat. "So um, would you like to order?"
"Ah yes!" Jimin laughed and put his hand on my shoulder. "Taetae, what do want? My treat!"
"Dam right it's your treat," I muttered, making the boy in front of me raise his eye brows in confusion. I smiled and ordered the same as yesterday, Jimin ordering a smoothie after I had placed mine. After Jimin payed we waited at the end of the counter to pick up our drinks.
"Strawberry banana smoothie," the raven hair boy said, sliding said drink across the counter. "And a caramel macchiato," he finished, handing me my coffee. As I reached over to take it, our fingers quickly touched, making my cheeks flare up. In response I quickly turned away so he couldn't see me get flustered, rushing to the back where Jimin and I would sit in a cozy booth.
"Taetae," Jimin whispered, leaning across the table so no one but me could hear. "Did you see him get flustered when he saw you? And he totally checked you out!" he whistled lowly, leaning back in his seat. " Who knew he'd have a thing for cross dressers?"
I reached over and slapped his shoulder. "Yah," I said quietly, "there's nothing wrong with cross dressing, plus I look dam good and you can't deny that," I said, cocking my eye brow in challenge.
"Of course you look good!" he whisper yelled. "That's why Hobi did this in the first place! He wanted to you show off your beautiful figure that you normally hide behind baggy sweatshirts. I swear," Jimin said shaking his head slowly, taking a sip of his drink. "You need to show off your body more, then maybe you wouldn't be single."
I opened my mouth to defend myself but he put up his hand, signaling for me to not even start. "I know, Tae, you 'want people like you for you, not for your body or your looks', but maybe you just need to grab someone's attention, then they can get to know you.
I sighed in my chair, taking a sip of my steaming drink. He was right. I need to get myself out there. And maybe this is the perfect way, who knows?
"Thanks Jimin, I know you're right, I just wish it weren't always like this."
"I know Tae, I know," he said, looking down at the table.
"Hey Tae?" the orange haired man spoke up.
I hummed in response, what is it this time?
"Look at the receipt."
He slid it across the table like Namjoon had done the day before.
ur pretty cute, what's your name?
mine's Jeongguk, btw, incase you haven't read my name tag.
My eyes widened as I read the note and I looked up at Jimin, meeting his surprised eyes as well.
"Taetae . . ." Jimin said in astonishment. "He's interested in you!" he said excitedly.
"Do you think so? What should I do? How should I tell him my name?"
In the end, we decided on writing my name on the receipt, and slipping it back on the counter on our way out. Things were finally going somewhere, and I think it was for the best.
