Larry looked over to me and smiled reassuringly telling me to not worry so much and that everything will be fine while still trying to concentrate on driving. I stayed silent during the ride back looking out of the window becoming lost into my thoughts until I realised that where we were going wasn't the apartments like Larry said he'd take us.
"Larry. Where are you talking us?"
Larry didn't answer back. He just smirked and drove on until we reached a forgotten opening to the woods where we'd go sometimes after school or on the weekends to hangout by the lake. The car came to a stop and we both got out with the strong smell of damp wood hitting me as I got out, I didn't really mind the smell of the wood, I don't know why but it's somehow comforting. My friend grabbed me once again by the arm and lead me deep into the woods to an abandoned concrete shack that looked like it was once something else but emptied out and filled with mattresses, beanbags and random crap like posters and a radio.
"Welcome to my other, other home Sal. It's basically like the treehouse but on the ground but I've wanted to show you this place for quite some time"
My friend spun around to face me with his arms wide open showing off the work he'd done to make this place seem somehow cosy despite being in the middle of the wood and containing one heater in the far corner of the little pace he claimed to be his.
"I know it's not much but it can be comfortable..Oh and don't worry, everything is clean"
He looked at me, waiting for my response with anticipation.
"This is so rad dude! You did this on your own without anyone finding out?"
He nodded in response with a big grin plastered on his face. God he looks adorable when he's proud of himself.
I throw myself onto one of the beanbags while Larry turns on the radio joking about how I need to be careful to not brake another one of his beanbags.

An hour into small talk, giggles and relaxing Larry stood up from the mattress he was lying on and stretched cracking some parts of his slender body, he walked up to me and held out his hand signalling forms to take it and pull myself up. Is I did I felt the warm embrace of Larry, trapping me inside his arms that rapped around my body,
"I'm so lucky that I have you in my life dude.."
I rap my short arms around his skinny waist pulling him into a deeper hug, we stood like that for a few minutes enjoying each other's company, my face completely red from blush, once we did pull away from each other Larry let out a slight giggle rubbing the back of his head with his hand with a slight blush crossing his cheeks. I looked out to one of the stone windows in our new home away from home with the lake in the distance,
"Hey, Larry?"
"Yeah?" My friend turned to look in the same direction I was,
"Wanna go swimming for a while?"
With that, Larry dived back onto the mattress rummaging through a pile on what looked like extra clothes, blankets and the extra towels from the apartment. I stood there watching him in confusion as he pulled out two pairs of swimming trunks,
"Good thing I stole these while I had the chance"
I giggled and grabbed the smallest sized pair hoping it wouldn't be too big considering it was Larry's.
"You know I was expecting us just to strip to our boxers and dive in but I guess this works too"
