Awkward silence has filled the space around us since we got to our "home away from home". Larry doesn't seem to mind but I can't help but feel awkward and conflicted about everything that's happened, I feel like I should tell Larry how I feel even if he's in a relationship now and doesn't feel the same way. I move from the window I was perched at and sat myself in front of my long haired friend, looking him dead in the eyes. It was now or never.
"You ok Sal?"
I nod and take a deep breath in. I'm doing this.
S:"I need to tell you something.. it's something that's been on my mind for a while now.."
L:"You can tell me anything Sal."
He takes my smaller hand and holds it with his larger one, not breaking eye contact with me making a light blush cross my face.
S:"I-I.. I love you. I love you Larry. I know you probably don't feel the same and I know you and Ash have a thing but I can't hold it back anymore."
L:"Dude.. Sal I-"
S:"I know.. don't feel the same way? Don't think of me like that?"
S:"I'll show myself out."
L:"N-No.. Sal wait."
As I got up to leave Larry tightened his grip on my hand and pulled me back down into one of his suffocatingly tight protective hugs. After a few seconds he loosened his grip allowing me to pull back for air but all I could do is look at him in confusion being lost for words.
L:"I love you too Sal. I don't know where you got the idea of me and Ash being a thing but she's not my type, if it has something to do with the hug at the lake it was because she confessed her feelings to me but I told her how I had a thing for you.. thankfully she understood but the important thing is..
He carefully unbuckled my prosthetic and placed it gently on the pile of clothes behind me before lifting my chin up slightly so my cold blue eyes met with his warm brown ones.
"I love you Sally Face"
With that we both slowly moved closer to each other with our lips finally connecting in the middle. I've been waiting for this moment for so long it almost felt unreal, a mixture of fireworks and butterflies danced around in my stomach as my heart felt like it was beating outside my chest. This was truly the most magical moment I've ever experienced and I wouldn't change any part of it.
