The Lake

~current time~

Looking out at the crisp water of the lake with the sun reflecting off of it, I realise how beautiful nature can be.. no doubt if Ash was here, she'd be taking hundreds of photos of everything.
I look over to a shirtless Larry, obviously eager to dive straight in, I look away as I felt my cheeks heat up and start getting myself undressed too. A thought suddenly pops into my head as I go to take my hoodie off, I'll have to take my prosthetic off to go swimming..
"You ok there Sal?"
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I snap back to reality having being frozen in place stuck in my thoughts,
"Y-Yeah.. it's just.. I just realised I'd have to take my prosthetic off to swim with you. I don't want you to be put off by my.. y'know.."
I look down in disappointment knowing that Larry will have to change plans now.. he sounded so excited about everything and I'm having to stop it because of this ugly face I call my own...
"It's ok Sal.."
I feel two warm arms wrap around me from behind and pull me into an embrace
"No matter what I won't think of you any differently, prosthetic or not.. but if you feel uncomfortable by it.. I won't force you to take it off, besides there's always something else to do"
I start to over think everything as usual, tears fill up my eyes but I don't cry..I feel larry's arms tighten around me in a protective way to let me know everything is going to be fine. I stop and let my mind go completely blank, I need to stop over thinking and just let life be life..
I step away from Larry as he loosened his grip around me.
I take a deep breath in and reach for the buckles on my prosthetic, starting with the bottom one and moving up to the top.
I unbuckle my prosthetic and place it on the floor besides me, slowly turning around to face Larry and let him see the real me.
