Astrid ran to her room as fast as she could without anyone noticing. She packed her clothes, personal stuffs and food.

When she was ready, she left letters on her desk and left Berk. She flew on Stormfly further away from home.

The sky was dark, cold and quiet. Astrid didn't mind the dark or the quietness. She's fearless. But she's still shivering from the cold thin air although she's wearing fur and full clothing.

"I have to find a shelter." Astrid said to Stormfly, covering her face from the cold, weak wind. Then she saw a cottage house about a few metres away. She landed with her pet and paced three steps forward.

She knocked the door and an old woman greeted her.

"I'm sorry mam, but we've been out here for hours and we need a place to stay and-"

"Now, now dear, it's alright come in now."

"Thank you." Astrid nodded and went in with Stormfly.

"Oh that's a beauty." The old woman said as she patted Stormfly's head.

"Have you eaten yet?" The old woman asked as Astrid sat down in front of the warm fire place.

"It's alright, I have food in here..." she trailed off when she saw the food that she brought in her basket, was all frozen.

"Don't you worry, I'll make dinner for you." the old woman smiled while Stormfly slept beside Astrid in front of the fire.

"Thank you." Astrid was glad to have someone help her.

"I'm sorry I didn't know your name." The old woman asked as she prepared some toast and steak.

"My name's Astrid."

"Well it's nice to meet you Astrid. I'm Belle."

"Oh thank you Mrs Belle for letting me stay here for a while. Are you sure your husband won't mind?" Astrid smiled as she grabbed a slice of toast since it was served.

Silence took over the room. Astrid thought that Belle didn't hear her. Before she repeat, Belle answered. "My husband died a year ago." she sounded sad and angry.

"All because of that half-troll!" she said in a calm voice but seems like she was shouting.

"I'm sorry." Astrid said.

Belle shooked her head, staring at the floor then smiled at Astrid.

"Well better hurry up, time to go to bed." Belle said as Astrid quickly finnished her steak. Actually she wasn't hungry anymore, she felt guilty and sad for Belle. But she decided to push that thought away and just finish her meal.
