Chapter 18 : Plans

Merida's POV

I cannot believe that Astrid found Hiccup. She is ruining my plans. She's destroying everything that I had planned for Meredith. Every threats I made for Mere, every penny I spent bribing countless people to make sure my secret doesn't go out in the open. I have to make another plan.

Hiccup's POV

I was about to walk into me and Merida's room when i heard her talking to herself about a plan. I couldn't hear her properly because she was kinda mumbling to herself. As I walked inside of our room, I pretended that I didn't hear anything which was absolutely so not true.

"Hiccup, what are you doing so early? Aren't you suppose be manning the shop?", Merida asked.

"Nah, I told one of the workers there to take over. Why? Do you have a problem with it?"

"Jeez, I was just asking. No need to be all protective all of a sudden.", Merida said in a nervous way.

"Well I am going away for a few months so don't come look for me anywhere. Do you hear me?", I said to Merida while walking towards the cupboard that had all of our bags in it. I took one out and stuffed clothes enough for at least 3 months. If I don't have enough, I'll just wash it again and again.

I quickly packed my bags and went out of the house without saying goodbye to anyone.

I didn't know where to go to escape the village, but then I realized that I had Astrid. Since she lived in the forest far from all the drama, I decided that I would stay with her if she allows me to. I hope so.

An hour and a half later.....

I finally landed in front of Astrid's place with Toothless by my side. I knocked on the door expecting Astrid to answer but instead an old lady came out with a warm smile on her face as she greeted me.

"Yes, young lad? What can I help you with?", asked the old lady.

"Hello, I was wondering if an Astrid lives here? I'm her boyf- acquaintance, Hiccup. Is she here?", I told her.

She gave me a smile as she invited me inside to wait for Astrid. She made some tea along with some crackers to munch on.

"Why are you here, young lad?" , the lady asked me as I fidgeted in my seat as I searched for some answers in my brain.

Luckily just in time, Astrid came striding into the house ignoring me, -the guest- , straight to the kitchen where she chugged water quenching her thirst.

"Well aren't you just so thirsty? You didn't even notice me sitting at the front. Why did you even do?", I said, still amused by her ignoring me.

"Hiccup, why are you here?",

"Look, I wanted a place to escape all of the things I'm going through right now. Your place is the only place that I know is stress free. So can I have your permission to stay here for a few months? Please say yes.", I said almost begging Astrid.

"Also, our son found out that I'm his dad."
