CHAPTER 16

Nick's pov:

I was helping Garret with the dish in the kitchen when Allison informed me we have a customer and she said they looked like a rich couple.

I nodded and took my notepad from my uniform before going to them. I saw a man and a women sitting on the table both of the looking at the menus.

"Hello, good evening. I am going to be your waiter for today. Would you like to order or you wan..." I stopped when I saw him and dropped my note pad. He also looked at me with shock. I looked at him then at the women he was sitting with then shook my head.

"Umm... I'm sorry" I said and bent down to pick my notepad.

"So, would you guys like to order now or you want some more time?" I asked giving them a small smile.

They both ordered their food and I wrote it down before leaving their table. I walked as fast as possible and reached the kitchen.

Garret looked at me and frowned.

"Nick, are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I am fine. Here": I said and gave him the order.

"Are you sure? You don't look good to me" he said.

"I'm fine Garret, You can prepare the food." I said and he nodded.

When the foods were done I bought them towards their table and placed it down. I left soon after that without giving them a glance.

I reached the staff room and closed the door. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself. It hurts. It really does. How can he do that to me? what did I done to deserve this?

A few minutes later the door opened and Garret walked in.

"Nick, are you okay?" he asked me when he saw me.

"Yeah, I am fine. Just give me few minutes." I said.

"Nick, are you sure? You have been acting strange. What's wrong?" he asked.

I shook my head but replied nothing.

"Okay, I will leave you alone. Take as much time as you want and don't worry about the customer I will cover for you." He said and I nodded at him with appreciation.

Soon he left the room and I sat on the one of the bench. I just sat there waiting for them to leave. 15 minutes later both Garret and Allison walked in the room looking worried.

Garret stood in front of me and folded his arms against his chest.

"Okay, now tell me what's wrong and don't give me the bullshit of saying nothing because it's not. And I know it has something to do with the people who just left." He said and I looked up at him.

"Is it the girl? Is she your Ex or something? But she looks older than you. It's not like I'm judging you or anything just.." he started to speak but I cut him off.

"He's my Husband" I said.

"Yeah okay, wait.. WHAT?" he asked sounding surprised.

I sighed and said.

"The one who came here with a girl is my husband and I don't know about the girl."

"Oh my god, are you like real? Why didn't you tell us you are married? To the top of that you are married to most rich and handsome guy in whole town." Allison exclaimed.

"I'm standing here you know" Garret said.

"You know him?" I asked surprised that she knew him.

"Yeah, everyone in this town knows the Grant's family." She said.

"Wait, Grant? You mean Mr. Robert Grant. You married to Mr. Robert's son?" he asked me with wide eyes.

I sighed like a hundredth time today and started to explain them everything. After I finished Allison came sat beside me and hugged me.

"Oh Nick, I'm really sorry for this all happened to you. He really is a dick." She said.

I nodded hugging her back.

"So, the girl from earlier is she his girlfriend or something?" Garret asked.

I shook my head. "No, I don't think so. He doesn't do relationships. It's always a onetime thing. Well, at least that's what I heard. It doesn't matter though I already started to accept my fate. I have to wait for two years to apply for a divorce." I said.

There was a silence before Allison decided to break it. "So, are you Gay...?" she asked.

I blushed and looked at the ground. "I...I don't know" i said.

"What do you mean you don't know? You are married to a man for a Christ's sake." she said.

"It was forced." i defended myself.

"So?" she asked.

"I don't know okay. I... I never been in a relationship before and i never had a girlfriend or boyfriend for the matter." i said hoping she would drop the subject.

"But you didn't denied it when i said James was handsome." she said smirking at me.

Well, i can't argue with that. because what she said was true.

"Allis, You are going off the subject." Garret warned her.

"Oops, sorry." Allison said.

Garret placed his arm on my shoulder and squeezed it. "Its okay kid, you can go through this. You're a strong person. If you want any help, I mean it Nick. If you need anything at any time at all just ask me okay?" he asked.

I gave him a small smile and nodded my head.

"Thanks Garret." I said.

"You can go home if you want it's time to close the restaurant anyway.' He said.

"Are you sure it's okay?" I asked.

"No problem kid, don't worry about it." He said.

"I told you to stop calling me that." I said.

A small smile breaks into his face and he ruffled my hair. "You are always a kid to me. Now go home and take some rest. We will see you tomorrow." He said and I nodded before standing up from the bench.

They left the room and I changed into my normal clothes. After that I bid them a good bye and started to walk towards the bus stop though my mind is somewhere else.
