CHAPTER 25

Nick's pov:

"Nick" he said and I just stood in my place frozen. My body felt numb and my mind can't seem to process anything.

He's here. No no no it can't be happening. He can't be real.

"Nick" he said and took a step towards me for which I took one step back unknowingly.

"Daddy, what's wrong?" My son asked and that's when I realized I have Alan in my arms. I and James both look at Alan at the same time and my eyes widening. When I looked back at James he seems to realize something and I know what he is thinking.

"Nothing baby, we're going home. Let's go." I said and turned to leave but not before looking at Henry and James. Henry seems confused about what's happening.

"Nick stop" James said and tried to follow me but stopped by Henry which I am grateful for.

As soon as I reached my table I packed all my things and prepared to go. When I crossed Henry's office I saw both of them arguing.

I didn't stop though, I entered into the elevator and left.

After I safely buckled Alan in his seat I started the car and drove towards our apartment. My mind was in complete shock and I had a very hard time focusing on the road. On the way to home Alan kept on looking at me worriedly. Even though he is only four he is a smart kid and easily understands everything.

After 20 minutes we reached my apartment and I got out of my car and helped Alan to unlock his seat belt before I carried him towards the elevator. I pressed the number to my floor and waited patiently and few seconds later the elevator door opened and we stepped out.

After reaching my room I unlocked it and went in. when we reached the living area I saw Matt sitting on the couch working on his computer.

He looked up when we entered and gave us a warm smile.

"Hi guys, you're early." He said with a smile but it soon turned into a frown when he saw the look on my face.

"Nick what's wrong?" he asked coming towards us but I just stood in my place not saying anything.

"Nick tell me what's wrong." He asked placing his hand on my shoulder lightly shaking me.

"He's here Matt. He's here." I said ready to break at anytime.

"Who? Who's here Nick?" he asked.

"James." I said. he looked like he have no idea what I am saying until realization crossed on his face.

He kneeled down beside Alan and gave him a small smile.

"Alan buddy, why don't you go to your room and play? Me and Daddy gonna discuss something." He said gently.

Alan nodded his head not saying anything before running off to his room.

"Nick, come on sit. You have to relax." He said and guided me to the couch and he sat beside me.

"Take a deep breath and tell me what happened." He said.

I did as he said and took a deep breath.

"James, he's here and I don't know how he found me but he's here and I don't know what I should do." I said.

"Where did you see him?" he asked.

"In the company, I saw him with Henry and I don't know how..." I stopped my rambling when I realized something.

"Shit. He's the friend Henry was talking about. I should have asked him about it when he said his friend lives in New York. I never thought of all people it could be him." I said and mentally scolded myself for my idiocy.
