A V A ' S P O VI woke up bright and early, seeing as its the day I'd be hanging out with Steve and Bucky. I've got the jitters from anticipation, wondering what the day will hold for us.
Upon my early awaking I spent hours searching and deciding on what I should wear. I'm so used to leaving in uniform for work that I only own so many casual outfits, I've never had much time to wear anything aside from my waitress attire.
Luckily I decided on an old simple maroon floral dress and a light cardigan sweater. Not too shabby, right?
Well finally noon came around and I was bustling around my living room doing some last minute touches to my attire, mostly out of anxiousness.
As I was slipping on my shoes I heard shouting from below my window on the streets.
It sounded like Bucky.
Good lord.
I hurried to the window and pushed it open, looking down below to see Steve and Bucky grinning.
"What's with all the ruckus?" I asked.
"You didn't give us your apartment number, what else were we supposed to do?" Steve stated.
I rolled my eyes with a playful smile. "You could've looked at the mailboxes for my name, geniuses."
You could practically see them mentally face palming themselves for not thinking of something so obvious.
I closed my window and grabbed my bag, heading out the door. I made my way down the steps and out the front door of the building, meeting the two doofuses on the sidewalk.
"Hello boys." I said happily.
"Hey, you look great by the way." Steve complimented.
"Oh please, I only threw on an old 'hand me down dress and my work heels." I replied in humor.
"Well it still looks great."
I looked between the two. "So, What is it we'll be doing today?"
"We have some things in mind." Steve replied.
We ended up going to the theater and spending a half an hour watching a cartoon and then we spent some time fiddling around with the few arcade machines outside the theatre. A penny to play a confusing game of baseball.
"Honestly Ava are you even a New Yorker?" Bucky questioned as we walked away from a hot dog cart.
"You don't like Baseball, you don't like hot dogs and you've never been to Coney Island." Steve exclaimed which made me laugh.
"It's just a personal preference." I defended. "And I haven't had time to adventure to Coney Island."
"Maybe we can all three go someday?" Steve suggested, glancing over at me.
I sent him a soft smile. "Yeah, I look forward to it."
Spending time with Steve and Bucky was truly something. They were such nice people to be around.
Eventually as the clock neared the evening it was time for us to bid each other goodnight.
We stopped outside my building and I didn't want the day to end.
"Well, I truly had an amazing day." I said to them. "It was the best day I've had in years."
It really was.
"I'm glad." Steve said.
Bucky was the first to engulf me into a friendly hug. "Have a goodnight."
I smiled and then turned to Steve engulfing him in a side hug.
"I look forward to our next adventure guys." I said as I took a step back.
"We'll see you around Ava." Steve said.
"What you meant to really say was that you'll see her on Monday at the diner." Bucky teased.
"Hey, I expect to see you both on Monday." I fake scolded.
"Yes M'am." Bucky remarked and saluted me.
I glanced at Steve once more. "Goodnight." I said and then opened the door to my building, leaving them on the sidewalk.
A/N: I don't know how I feel about this chapter, it was rushed but I hope you liked it.
