Ava's POVI stared at my reflection in the mirror, trying to make last minute adjustments to my outfit because today is the day that I'll be going on a date with Steve. It's quite surreal, just months ago we began hanging out and now I'm going on a date with the little guy.
I grabbed my bag and then headed out the door.
Steve, Bucky and his new date Delores were standing outside my apartment waiting for me.
"Hey everyone." I greeted with a gentle smile.
The two boys greeted me back and the girl only smiled. I've seen her around, enough to know she's she's quite talkative, and very optimistic. Which isn't a terrible thing. I know I'm quite the opposite at times so hopefully maybe it won't be a terrible thing. Most importantly, I'm sure her and Bucky get a long great though considering the ladies man he is. I'd say he can be quite optimistic as well.
You really have to be these days. It helps you see past all the bad happening in the world right now.
"So uh, how are we getting to Coney Island?" I asked.
"The trolley, duh." Bucky remarked playfully.
"And do we all have enough money for the trolley?" I asked, glancing around us all. "I think I have a little money."
"I think we all do."
We walked down to a trolley stop and paid the fund, which is quite expensive then we all got on one at a time. Once we were settled in a seat, Steve and I sat down beside each other.
"Are you as nervous as I am?" I asked him quietly and he looked at me cracking a smile with a chuckle.
"I'd be lying if I said no."
It's weird how we can hangout as friends and it doesn't phase us but once you add the term date into the mix, it's changes everything.
Once we arrived to Coney Island we decided to walk around, all the while I ogled at everything. The glowing lights on the Ferris wheel, and the New York ocean in the distance.
It was a sight I've never seen. I mean, I've been to carnivals and I've been to the beach but this, it's just more beautiful. What makes it even better is that I'm here with the two most important people in my life. Steve, and Bucky.
"Hey Ava, what d'you day we go on a roller coaster?" Bucky asked with a crooked grin, knowing I'd be scared to death.
I shook my head. "No, Are you crazy?" I asked him and Steve chuckled.
"It's not that bad Ava, he made me ride it and I survived." Steve coaxed trying to make a point.
"You threw up."
He looked back at his friend with an unamused look. "You're not helping."
Bucky chuckled and then held his hand out for me.
"Come on, nothing bad will happen."
I sighed but gave in, grabbing his hand and smiling. I grabbed Steve's hand and Bucky grabbed his girlfriends hand and began to drag us towards the entrance of the ride.
