A V A ' S P O V

Months began to pass since the last I've seen Steve. But he had kept his promise, he'd sent me many letters, sometimes he would tell me about everything and others would be very vague. I'd ask him how he's doing, and if he's been shipped to war yet, and he'd reply with the same.

I've been assigned to other duties, but sometimes I'll be at bases near war zones helping the out.

It didn't make sense to me, why they would work so hard to make him who he is and not give him a chance on the battlefield. I feel bad for him, but hopefully whatever he's been assigned to is still playing a big part in the whole Army situation. I highly doubt it though.

I walked down the street, heading towards the local music hall. There's this new USO show that everyone's been swooning over. They call the man Captain America, apparent it's just him and some show girls promoting the war. My coworker had purchased a ticket but wasn't able to go so she gifted it to me. Now I love plays and shows just as much as the next person, but this, I'm not too sure if I'll enjoy. I mean, it's a good way to promote others to help out on the war, but it's the last thing I want to think about. But everyone's seems to love the show so it must be interesting.

As I walked into the building I gave my ticket to the man in the box office and then walked to the theatre room. I took a seat in the third row and placed my purse on my lap, looking towards the spangly background on the stage.

The theatre was filled, every seat occupied by either an adult or a child.

Music began to play as women walked out onto the stage dressed to the nines in red white and blue. They began to sing as a man emerged from behind the curtains holding a shield.

Captain America.

"Not all of us can storm a beach, or drive a tank." He began confidently. "But there's still a way all of us can fight."

"Series E defense bonds, each one you buy is a bullet in the barrel of your best guys gun." He said and smiled as the girls began to sing again.

I was actually enjoying it, and I couldn't help but smile at the act.

"The Star Spangled Man With a Plan"

"Now we all know this is about trying to win the war but we can't do that without bullets and bandages, tanks and tents." He said. "Now that's where you come in, every bond you buy will help protect someone you love." He said, and right as he turned around he punched Adolf Hitler.

I stood up, recognizing his voice. Because for a short moment the music wasn't as loud, and it wasn't drowning out his voice. I thought it had sounded like him but I wasn't too sure. But at this point I shouldn't be surprised.

I knew it! He can hide behind the mask but he can't hide his voice and familiar smile.

Why didn't he tell me?

He waved to the crowd and as his eyes skimmed over every person. I could see a look of recognition on his face, and panic as his eyes met mine.

I crossed my arms over my chest and sat back down, furrowing my brow.

How could he tell me about the top secret experiment but not tell me about this? If he thinks I'll be mad about him doing this then he's very wrong, but I am mad that he didn't tell me.
