I get off the couch walking upstairs to Daniel's room, which his door was already opened. "What time does Danny get off?" I ask without saying excuse me or anything. He dropped down his pencil looking over at me.
"9:45 tonight. Why?" he asked. "And do you know what time my brother gets off?" I asked ignoring his question. He turned around to me with an raised eyebrow. "8:50 tonight. Why you asking all these questions?" he asked once more.
"There's a word called curious. So what you working on today?" I asked sitting on his bed. "Algebra and other things you work on in high school. Afterwards I'm going out with my boys" he replied smiling.
"You mean... Ken, Emmanuel, and Jason?.." I asked, hoping that it wasn't them he was talking about. But I knew he was. "Yep and were getting our girls back" he grinned. "What you mean your girls back?" I asked dumbfounded. Surely knowing what he was talking about. "I mean you, Brittney, Janell, and Cha'Nale. So why don't you give me a nice kiss" he responds.
I heard Jamie coughing and found that chance to get away. "In your dreams.. And besides I have to give your sister her medicine" I say, quickly removing my self off his bed, slipping out the door. I went into Jamie's room opening the door. "Hey mimi" I smile walking over to her bed.
"Ughhh" she groaned, coughing. "Is Daniel messing with you again? Cus I heard him talking about trying to be your boyfriend again.." she mumbled due to how sick she was. "Um no he's fine.. Jamie.. Do you know why he likes me so much?" I asked the six year old little girl. "Well he talks about how much he likes you and-" she cough twice before continuing.
"how he doesn't mean to beat you, and he acts the way he acts because him, Ken, Emmanuel, and Jason would always go drinking and smoking but that's what he told me" she informed. "Oh.. Here take you medicine" I say, giving her two teaspoons of medicine. I read the instructions child. I'm not gonna overdose the poor girl.
She swallowe it putting on an disgusted face. "Eww yuck! It's nasty!" she complained, trying to spit put the after taste. I laughed, putting up her medicine. "I know right that's why I never swallow it" I giggled.
"So do you like my brother?" she asked. I shrugged. "Naw.hes threatening and forcing me to like him. I think I might leave early today" I assumed. "No please don't leave because of my brother! I promise he'll be nice!" she begged.
I scoffed, shaking my head. "Smh! Please! Your brother will not be nice. He's too-" she cut me off. "Daniel!!!" she yelled so loud, that it sounded like her voice could hoarse any moment. "What?!" Daniel yelled back.
"Come here boy!" she ordered. I giggled at how sassy she sounded. "What do you want?" he asked annoyed. "I'm trying to tell Brianna that you're a good person but she says you're not. Have you been messing with her again cuz I'll tell Danny!" Jamie threatened.
"Pssh! I'm going back to my room" That was Daniel final response before he left out the room. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out answering. "Helllooo?" I say all goofy. "Hey Bri what happened?" Roc asked. I looked confused, on my end.
"Whachu mean what happened?" "You said you was gonna call back cuz you had to do something but it's been three hours" he said. "Oh sorry I was babysitting" I say. "Babysitting? When did you babysit?" he asked confused.
"Since 11 something this morning" I responded. "Who are you babysitting?" Roc asked once more. "A friends brother and sister" I say. "Yo Bri! I'm going out!" Daniel says at the wrong moment and wrong time. I sighed.
I don't know if he's allowed to even go out during school hours. But I ain't gonna be lectured or shit cuz I wasn't watching them. So you know what I did?.. "No you better not! Come here Daniel!" I demanded with an smart tone. "Roc I'm gonna have to talk to you later" before I cut hang up Roc said something.
"Woah wait. You can't. You been ditching me for a long time now Bri" Roc said with a sound of hurt in his voice. "I'm done with my work though!" Daniel complained. "First of all don't even know if Daniel would let you so I need to call him first" I say. "Go ahead he gonna say yea or even better hell let them come over" Daniel smirked.
