My eyes slowly opened to the sound of music playing the background. I think it came from the kitchen. I slid my legs off the side of the bed and slipped my feet into my fuzzy slippers. I stood up on my feet only to come face to face with the floor. My legs were still asleep. “Uhhggg” I moaned to tired to lift myself off the floor. Crawling to the door I turned the handle and whipped it open. “TURN IT DOWN!!!” I yelled startling my friend May as she finished putting a second coating of red nail polish on her toes. “Thanks Anna you made me mess up!” She yelled back turning the volume on the radio so loud it felt as if the walls were vibrating. Angry I got on my feet and ran towards her, surprised that I didn’t fall again. I leaped over the table and tackled her to the floor from the chair she was sitting in. Red nail polish spilled all over the table and dripped on her purple pajama pants as I pinned her to the ground. Before I could slap her Sarah walked into the room. “What the hell is going on?! You guys are making so much noise and are messing up the kitchen, and what are you still doing here Anna your supposed to be gone already!” Sarah yelled. I looked up at her with a confused expression. She put her hand on her hips and gave me that disappointed look “ You have your first class in 20 minutes…remember?”

My eyes grew wide as I jumped off of May and ran to my bedroom throwing any type of clothing on my body. What a great way to start my first day back to classes.

I made my way through the crowds of people and into my first class of the day. I was on time and took my seat with a sigh of relief. People were standing around having conversations or on their laptops checking e-mails or video call. I sat back in my seat relaxing taking a good look around the room. All different faces. I didn’t know any of these people but they all seemed to know each other or some at least. I pushed my book to the corners of the desk when someone had walked by making them all spill to the floor. “Hey watch where your going!” I yelled at them, the person didn’t listen only continued walking. Aggravated I reached down to pick up my books to have another hand get to my books before me and pick them up. Looking up there stood a tall young man in front of me. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes, olive skin and a warm smile. I smiled back at him as he held out the books to me “I think you dropped these?” He said revealing a bigger smile so that he showed all his white sparkling teeth. I took the books from him and placed them back on the corner of my desk. “Thanks .” “I guess some people just don’t know manners.” He said taking his seat one desk away, across from me. “Yeah.” I agreed. Before we could say more the teacher walked in and introduced himself. The helpful guy turned once more to me and gave me a smile and a wink. I smiled sheepishly back. I felt so uncomfortable just the flirtasious stares from this atractive young man made me feel like I was cheating on Justin. Even though Justin had transfered to a college away from me we still kept in touch over the phone, and even though he wasn’t here I always felt that he was. I rested my head on my fist to feel that my face felt hot, was I blushing?? I hope not, that helpful man turned to me again, but I turned away hoping that he wouldnt see the blush flooding my face.

Whats going on? I’m not supposed to feel this way, I’m with Justin! I shook the thought from my mind of what just happened and concentrated on the class. The teacher started with writing his name on the board. “Hello class, my name is Mr. Rogers, I am going to be your history teacher for this year, and I hope all of us can start off the year right.” The class stayed completely silent, with a quick look around the room the teacher nodded his head and turned back to the chalk board. I glanced back over at the guy that had helped me earlier to see that he was concentrating on the board. I brought my attention back to the borad also.

“Remember to read pages one to fifteen, and complete a five paragraph essay on that section, have a good day.” Mr. Rogers had said, then he went behind his desk and sat down. The sound of footsteps, and the shuffling of books and papers filled the classrom as I had gathered my own books together and started down the isle. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see the same guy who had helped me earlier. “Oh hey.” I said to him, turning around to face him. “Hey, uh I didn’t catch your name.” I paused “My names is Anna.” “Anna that’s a pretty name.” He replied. I looked down. “And who are you?” “Oh i’m so sorry I didn’t introduce myself, I’m ryan.” He said holding out his hand, I reached for his hand and shook it.
