Forgiveness

Was I really seeing this, someone had left a rose for this man? I pushed through the crowd trying to find a cop until somone grabbed my arm. I turned around to see Jenn standing there. “Anna where are you going?” “Jenn, wait I’m trying to find someone.” “Young lady I’m sorry but your going to have to turn around.” A mans voice said from behind me. I turned around to see a cop standing there, both hands hanging onto his belt. “No sir your the one I’m trying to look for, I need to ask you something.” I said almost urgently. “Well what is it?” I could hear Jenn waiting impatiently behind me. “The body of the crime scene, I saw a rose in the mans hand.” I told him. “Yeah so…” “Well don’t you think that’s strange like why would someone leave a ro-“ “Im sorry young lady but you going to have to leave now and just let all of us do our job.” He said and began to walk away.

            I sighed knowing this guy would never hear me out, and turned back to Jenn who was standing there waiting for me. She held an arm out and we walked arm in arm back to the car. Once we closed the car door I asked “So why didn’t anyone wake me up this morning everyone left me in the house alone.” “Well we heard about it and all of us were awake, you were up last night real late doing homework so we thought we would let you sleep.” Jenn replied “And May? What about her is she still upset about our argument?” “I’m afraid so, she came in last night and went straight to her room slamming the door, to just be sure I went up to her room to talk to her but she completely ignored me.” She explained.

            I sighed this is not like May at all the longest we were mad about something with eachother was and hour but never past that. “Whatever, I’m not going to chase after her and beg on my knees for her to forgive me when I did nothing wrong.” I said “Well hopefully she’ll come around.” Jen replied. Silence filled the car. “I can’t believe this just happened…At Middleton College.” Jenn said “I can’t believe it either, they’re probably going to make an announcement to all the students about this.” I started the car and drove back to the apartment.

            Jenn and I had walked through the door to see the rest of our friends sitting around the living room, the room was completely quiet. All of us shocked and sad about a student who was murdered at midleton college.”How could something like this happen?” Jordan said. No one had answered, the room had continued silent. We were all surpised on the events that had happened. “When did this happen?” I asked. “Someone had told me that the murder might have happened late, like around 1:00am.” Jordan replied. I looked at her and she had a looks of fear washed over her face, I’m sure we all felt afraid but Jordn couldn’t hold it back. I walked over to her and put an arm around her shoulder. She leaned her head on my shoulder, then there was a knock at the door. Sarah got up and went to open the door. There was an officer standing in the doorway with a police car in the street, it was a women. “ Hello, I’m officer Ashton, We’re stopping door to door to make sure that everyone is safe and to remind you all to keep all your doors locked and to remain indoors after 8:00pm. You will also have a meeting with the rest of you class in the college auditorium at 12:00pm the afternoon.

            She paused. “I am also very sorry for what had happened, and to those you you who may have been close friends of Tommy Mathews.” With that she gave us all a nod and walked back to her police cruiser. “Tommy Mathews.” I said the name quietly to myself. Sarah closed the door quietly and walked back to the couch taking a seat.

            It was 12:00, all of us walked out to my car and got inside the car ride was quiet most of the way and Jordan still looked scared stiff. We pulled into the parking lot, and got out walking with the hundres of other student’s to the auditorium. Once there we took our seats and waited patiently, for everyone else to gets seated.
